I have always liked the phrase “God cares more about your holiness than your happiness.”
The two are inseparable.
I agree. I have looked up happy references in the Bible..they are pretty sparse. The word Joy is more prevalent. and I believe Joy is finding that peace in the midst of your storms. Jesus didn’t say “if” trials comes...he used the word “when”. He never promised us happiness here on earth....not to say we cannot find glimpses of it. God wants us to persevere...a lot different than happiness.
No they aren’t. You are thinking joy but joy and happiness are not the same thing.
The two are inseparable.

You are right but there is that “worldly” type happiness that painfully gets chipped away when serving God.
Bad title - I thought Don Imus wrote the book...

You are exactly right. As we approach the End Times we must practice discernment when it comes to the false teachers that proclaim a prosperity gospel that is nothing more than catering to itching ears.
I don't know the least thing about the bible but whenever I listen to Father Jonathan on FOX I'm left with a good feeling.........
I know exactly what I am thinking of. If you’re so smart, go read St. Thomas’s Summa theologiae, Ia, IIae, Q 1 through 5 and get back to me.
I really like Father Jonathan. He is a glass half full person. And like you, I always feel better afer listening to what he has to say. He helps to put things in perspective from a religious point of view. I like his moral and ethical stances. I like him. Period.
Way to be snippy. I am reading those by the way. Thanks for the resource.
Don’t try to tell people what they are thinking. If you have any questions about that disputational method let me know by Freepmail. It is a style that is very foreign to modern education. Maybe I can help you cut through some of the problems people encounter when trying to understand it.
Yes, I worded mine poorly as well. I am enjoying the summa read.
