An article, a few posts on a few blogs and this will die away. Where is the congregation? Where are all the congregations in the area? They should be outside on the street protesting till the law is changed? Sheeple.

The liberal rot is very deep indeed.

“Sheeple.”

It’s being litigated. I think the roommate seeker will win. Do not despair. She has freedom of ASSOCIATION among other things.

“You mean I have no say in whom I live with now?”

“Why not?
Don’t people have the right to decide who they want to live with?”

Suggestion:
Read “We The Living” by Ayn Rand for one answer to that question.

How does a non-Christian person offended by the ad see it if it is in a church?

Especially within your home. Many fair housing rules regarding renting of a rental property allow you to be more discriminating when they live WITH you.

Realistically, this level of insanity had to be reached to cause people to rise up and say — Hell NO! Enough of this stupid PC crap. Let’s return to a sane position on things like this. Perhaps Michigan will even begin to become Reddish again. (Naaah, that’s asking too much, they need to suffer some more)

...Fair Housing Act prevents people from publishing an advertisement stating their preference of religion, race or handicap with respect to the sale or rental of a dwelling...probably when you're the rentee, but doesn't apply if you're going to be the renter, especially if you'll be paying your own and not government's money - real problem here is probably that these bureaucrats fall in the lower half of the intelligence curve - but where else could they get a job but in government.....

They wouldn’t care, not even the politically correct, if someone didn’t make a deal about it. This is perfectly absurd. People put advertisements in churches for religious activities all the time, but no one, at least as far as I heard, made a deal about it.

I’ve heard some dumb things in my time but that’s got to be up there with the best of them.

Sadly we have a lot of dumb things like this happening in England at the moment. We often find that the decision has been made by a cretin in public office who’s so scared of having to think long enough to make a decision for themselves that they set common sense to one side and apply the letter of the instructions in front of them, literally in the hope that it passes the buck onto someone else.

Political correctness is a bit of a red herring: it’s more a case of “using my noggin is more than my job’s worth”.
