...with a 5,900 euros (4,125 pounds) price tag.

I'll wait for the paperback version.

This is like Hillary giving back campaign money two years after the election is over.

It is precisely 700 years ago this week, Friday October 13, 1307, that King Philip (Le Bel) of France sent his henchman, Guillaume de Nogaret (who had caused the death of the previous Pope Boniface so that Philip could install Clement and begin the Avignon Captivity) to betray and arrest the Templars in the Paris commandery.

Interesting timing.

I’m among those that think they were the good guys and that the bad guys have held their legacy hostage for all this time. I find it most instructive that they were the “bad guys” in the virulently anti-Christian book and movie The Da Vinci Code. The fact that story, among others, specifically echos the heresies of both the Islamists and the Gnostics and attempts to portray The Poor Knights of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon as the source of evil is instructive.

Liberals still practice this kind of lying. It’s called “projection.”  Accuse your enemies of your own crimes (or sins) and they can't then credibly bring out the truth against you.  It's where the "they all do it" defense came from.

What is funny, is that this is all pretty much old news to those who study Medieval times.

There was a cheap little book about the Vatican secret archives that I picked up a few years ago. It was published some time in the 80’s, and it talked about this.

If this is a real story I think it needs to be left at that. We (Catholics) do not need your belittling comments and no, I am not a conspirator.

Would you mind having the remark about the neener thread deleted please?

My respect for the author is diminished when he compares the Templars to the 'DiVinci Code'. It's like comparing the Mona Lisa to a coloring book, granted I haven't looked at a Mona Lisa much recently, nor that closely at the Templars.

Considering it took the Vatican 500 years to admit Galileo was right the Templars should consider themselves lucky this is being done at all.

I suppose the next thing the Vatican will do is admit that there actually were more than 4 Apostles....
