"The Edomites are lambasted in the Bible for refusing to let the Israelites rest on their land as they flee Egypt. God declares obscurely: "Over Edom will I cast out my shoe." "

Sorry, I don't buy it. This author has a hidden agenda.

I don't know much about the finer details of the Edomite empire but I doubt you could make the sweeping claims being made here just from a few fragments of stone/wood/clay pots (what?!?) that were found. If the Edomite empire existed earlier it doesn't necessarily mean the Bible is full of "folklore" since the construction of history tend to be fluid due to time gaps between some events. The Bible is unclear as to dates. (Does anyone know the year of the birth of Christ?) Other hints of this author's bias such as the quote above illustrate the author has little regard for the scriptures or doesn't have much scriptural understanding. (If he wanted to find out what was obscured with "God casting His shoe" the author should have reviewed Ruth 4:7)

This sounds like more of a hit piece to discredit the Bible than a documentary which is what he tries to make it sound like.
