You know what? Who cares about all this garbage? As of next Wednesday, WE will hold California!

At the end of the day, these are the facts:
1) The only election of importance is on Tuesday in California. When all is said and done, despite all the Democrat sniping, it is more than likely that a Republican will be governor. Davis is getting the boot. Boo-hoo to all the lurkers from DU.
2) The Presidential election is over a year away. By this time next year, the economy will be growing at a rapid pace, the story on Iraq will have come out, and the Dems will have spent all their ammo. Boo-hoo to all the lurkers from DU.
3) One way or another, Rush will still be on the air a year from now. The case is flimsy and the other characters are shady (a maid being paid off by the Enquirer?) He will prevail in the end, even if it takes a month or two. Boo-hoo to all the lurkers from DU.
4) Peter Paul's book and CD-Rom will be released, and, at this point, I think that FReepers will do everything in their power to promote it. Another Clinton Scandal in the making!!! This is inevitable. Boo-hoo to all the lurkers from DU.
5) Today, all the slumbering conservatives have been roused from their berths -- and they are hopping mad. I think we can expect them to start turning out in force in levels we haven't seen since 1994. Boo-hoo to all the lurkers from DU.
The Dems are peaking too early. Boo-hoo to all the lurkers from DU.

Exactly! This is what happens when their sorry commie hides are backed against the wall.
They're finished; this is just a scorched-earth tactic.

do you really believe Arnold is a pro govt expansion liberal? Don't you think his push for Prop 49 (our $450 million per year state-funded after-school program) shows that he is?

Do you know how many California taxpayers' dollars have been spent on Prop 49 to date?

Proposition 49 is a trap for liberals.
It is only funded when there is a huge state surplus, and it's pegged at about 10% of the surplus amount.
It's far from a big spending program, and of course it will be irrelevent until we've really cleaned up our act.
It's actually rather clever, if you think about it. A nice incentive to balance the budget.
In many respects, Arnold is not as conservative as I'd like him to be.
But he's smart.

I knew that D but I wanted to see if the other poster knew. To date not a single dollar has been spent on this program that some say will bleed this state dry.
Thanks.

Do you know how many California taxpayers' dollars have been spent on Prop 49 to date? Irrelevent. Do you think it was just a publicity feel-good proposition that won't cost anything? As soon the state has the money available, it's $450 mil per year. But, that's OK, it's for the children(tm).

The sad truth is the state of California will still be ungovernable after next Tuesday. Politicians have made way too many promises people expect to be kept and have written way too many checks the taxpayers can't cover. It's an absolute mess and no governor can fix it.
