September 17, 2003 -- It was hard from Day One to understand the rationale for paroling Kathy Boudin, the one-time child of privilege turned revolutionary urban terrorist. Apparently Gov. Pataki had some questions, too, because big changes at the state parole board are accompanying Boudin's walk to freedom this morning. While Pataki's office last night denied involvement, Parole Board Chairman Brion Davis is said no longer to be involved in its day-to-day affairs.

Can parole be revoked based on a subsequent ruling that the original parole shouldn't have been issued in the first place, or is it rather that once a person has been paroled, only a violation on their part can be grounds for revocation?

To make matters worse, Boudin has been hired by St. Luke's Hospital to work in its HIV/AIDS unit.

Hospitals have to be accredited periodically.

I don't know if having a convicted terrorist on the payroll would have any effect, but anything to generate more paperwork, require additional attorneys' fees and closer scrutiny of current employees could make them rethink their employment practices.

It's quite clear that low people in high places took an interest in this case.

No different than slick willie pardoning murdering terrorists.

PATHETIC..

Absolutely sickening. If we had an effective death penalty, this would be moot. Kill 'em while everyone still remembers what they did.

I feel so sorry for the families. And her low life son wrote an editorial giving 'forgive and forget'advice to the family of one of the slain officers.

His mother is a rotter and so is he.

Some very powerful people facilitated her release and her new living quarters and position at the hospital.
