I can understand no sex before marriage, and I can sort of understand no kissing before marriage if I strain my brain, but no hugging?? That's a bit much, imo.

Agreed. I can respect the sex part, but touching (just a simple brush of the cheek, not a grab of the arse), kissing, cuddling, hugging, etc. help establish intimacy- a key ingredient in a good sex life. If they don't know how to be intimate, sex will be nothing more than sex.
