Oh, we showed up - just didn't have a significant comment to add. Never think for a minute that we don't appreciate it when you ping us !!!

I sure hope this guy's findings stand up under scrutiny, because it will go a long way in validating Dr Fell and putting to bed the nonsense that ancient bones "belong to" Amerinds.

"Probably another one of my long-lost relatives."

I suspect Cheddar Man is related to me.

It's hard to believe that a modern day relative of this, Cheddar Man, 9,000 year old skeleton found in England has been identified.

Dang. Does this mean we have to give Wyoming back to Ireland?

Sounds like a load of horse manure. If an Irish guy made it all the way to Wyoming then chances are he didn't come empty handed. If he had come we can be assured that he would have brought all the trappings of his society with him, like wheat, barley, pigs, chickens etc. Any such things would have drastically altered life in North America for everyone, they would have been a revolution unto themselves. If on the other hand he was a shipwrecked Character, why was he in Wyoming? He either would have set up shop where he landed or he would have built a ship and tried to go home. Certainly wouldn't have trudged off across a continent through populated and hostile lands on foot. Doesn't make much sense especially when added to the rest of the points raised here.

Thanks, I was no expert and just was recalling past posts. Not being an expert in this area, I defer to your obviously more advanced understanding of the situation.

Wonder why he didn't get professional archeologists involved in the site sooner?

Perhaps one reason is that the "professional archeology" community is a very clannish bunch, with a penchant for burying work which calls their pet theories into question, ruining people's lives in the process...

Like the archaeologist said earlier, It's tough to ID things 1000 years old. We don't agree on what happened with the African uranium last year, and we have trouble remembering anything earlier than the Carter admin. Nevertheless, I sense a new edition of 'Irreproducible Phenomena' is on the way.

Independent testing will be interesting and is needed. No Mormon bashing is intended, but they do have a vested interest in establishing that there was a substantial population of European/Middle Eastern origin in America during pre-Viking times, and the fact that the DNA testing was performed in Utah is notable.

Apparently professional archeologists are very prejudiced against this type of discovery; it would undermine a great deal of their work, so I am sympathetic with those who want to "think beyond the box." However, most of the people who venture out with this type of work produce results and ideas that are just as biased as those of the professionals. It's very difficult to get good, unbiased "readings" on these discoveries. I personally see no reason to assume Europeans weren't here before the Vikings. But I have seen no research that causes me to conclude that that is the best conclusion to these findings.

I remember this. I have the issue of West Virginia magazine it appeared in. I thought the subject was fascinating and am glad to read an update.
