Prayer Request for my daughter

I've not been an active participant in FR this summer. It's clear that I've violated the attendance policy of this organization...but I'm requesting FMLA on this one.

My five-year-old daughter is having open-heart surgery on Wednesday, July 9 at 7:30 CST. She's getting what's been described to my wife and me as a repair job for some leaking plumbing inside her heart.

Part of the religious tradition that we follow teaches us that God will most certainly hear the prayers of the faithful when three or more gather in His name.

Please pray for little Mary-Catherine's safety during the procedure and for her speedy recovery after. She's been amazing in her bravery during the ramp-up to the surgery. The ones who're most nervous are my wife, my youngest (M-C's little sis) and me.

I'll be sure to give an update on her condition as the week goes on.

Dear Alan-
Our daughter also had open heart surgery at the age of 5. She is now a beautiful 19 year-old with no restrictions. You will be amazed at the quickness of the recovery...I was prepared for a slow convalescence, but she was up and around immediately. The only restrictions were against swimming, bike riding, and anything that might give her a blow to the chest. The healing power of children is remarkable. Good luck to all of you!
