They say dead men tell no tales. It's a pity, because that means they can't respond to some pretty tall tales either.
Take John F. Kennedy, Jr. (search). He's dead, but he's alive and well in the press again thanks to Edward Klein's much talked about book, The Kennedy Curse: Why Tragedy Has Haunted America's First Family for 150 Years.

Neil's a class act.

I agree, but I have just as hard a time at the Kennedys digging up and wrapping the corpses of John and Robert about themselves each time it's politically expedient.

Neil, your words were wisely spoken! Let these folks rest in peace no matter what they did to one another. It's none of our business! May they both rest in peace and find comfort in heaven. May their families be spared the words of discourse that come from today's grubby American media. They did nothing whatsoever to hurt our nation. I can think of two other people that have done massive damage to our country and justice has not found them, yet!

wise words BUT the marriage problems and drug use is flat out FACT...so weigh that in the mix of life

Amen.

I don't have a dog in this fight, so I'll side with Neil Cavuto. John Jr. and his wife Carolyn are dead. Leave them be.

Well, I sort of agree, it's not fair to pick on someone who can't defend themselves. Nevertheless, the Democrats never fail to "dig up" the corpses of JFK, RFK and other dead Kennedys if they think they can beat a Republican over the head with their memories.
And in truth, I have seen no such reluctance at attacking the very much deceased Strom Thurmond. Ronald Reagan isn't dead, but let's face it, he can no longer speak for himself, and he is attacked by lefties to this day--sometimes for having the condition he has.
When it comes to sheer, unadulterated meanness, the Democrats are usually going to win hands down, every time.

Does this mean that Neal believes that no books should be written about anyone who is deceased? How does Neal feel about family members exploiting the names of the deceased for political purposes?
I believe that a writer should have the freedom to write on any subject and let the marketplace respond to the effort.

because they're both getting a rough ride. In the words of Bob Dylan, "Was that some kind of joke?"

As much as I hate continuously hearing about America's "royal family" (puke), this stuff does have one positive effect: it further helps deflate the idiot notion of "camelot" that the press keeps pushing and reveals once again the their problems have been of their own making and not some curse on their degenerate, lower-end-of-the-gene-pool family.

It's one thing to have looked into his father's sexual transgressions. There, I guess you could argue risky dalliances created risky possibilities. But even there, it's a stretch.***
WHY?
The Dems attack every president they can to make us hate the "old white men" who founded our wonderful country. Washington kept slaves, Jefferson had an affair with a slave, yada, yada, yada. So what's a stretch about writing about JFK's women while he was in the White House?

Agreed. Just as bad as those who try to profit from the dead by calling them sinners are those who try to further their causes by portraying the Kennedys as saints.

Seems the Kennedy's just have to bash everyone who ever had the misfortune to get involved with them.

Hear, hear. I thought this was a disgusting and inexcusable report. I'm a journalist, but there's some things you just don't report, because people don't need to know.

The Democrats have been using and abusing the Camelot myth for 40 years to cover up their essential corruption and power madness. There are still several Kennedys in office. It's fair to say that they are in office only because of the Kennedy name.
I must admit I don't have a lot of interest in this particular scandal, but as long as the Camelot myth is still being invoked in American politics you can't expect everyone else to shut up and toe the party line.
