Prayer request for friend of mine in terrible condition...

On Sunday, a friend of mine was horseback riding deep in wooded trails. In summary, the horse flipped over backward on him and broke his back. This guy may be the most "wired" hyper individual I've ever known, and in addition to his dire physical straits, he's going absolutely nuts in the hospital. He has of course been flat on his back since he got there, and a HEFTY Dilaudid drip isn't killing the pain.

Surgery is tomorrow, and they expect it to take all day to put the vertebra back together. Prayers for healing, guidance for the surgeon and all medical personnel, and most importantly, prayers for God's spirit to descend on him and do a work in his life. I'm not sure if he's saved or not.

If fellow freeper Christians would be so kind as to pray for him, I sure would appreciate it.

O Lord, we lift up MississippiMan's friend. We thank you, first, that he survived the accident, and that he has medical care. Please give the doctors wisdom and knowledge tomorrow and let the surgery go well. And please, Lord, let the young man draw close to you and feel your peace, the peace that passes all understanding. Please heal him and restore him, and let it all be to your glory and honor.

Feel strongly that your assessment is accurate . . . that the back is AT LEAST going to be used in an attempt to get at some of his other priorities toward some overdue adjustment.

Anyway--will pray for God's best and highest for him and those close to him.

Lord, I humbly ask in Your precious Name to heal the broken bones and vertebra, the nerves and spinal cord as well, reduce all swelling and restore good circulation to all injured areas for Your Glory.

I also ask that You O Lord, will direct and guide the Surgeon's hands. Give Your Wisdom and Compassion to the entire staff that You have entrusted to care for this man.
