And to think, all that the Chinese wanted in return was a few several critical nuclear secrets necessary to any future attack on the United States, plus the ability to build modern commercial aircraft and drive Boeing out of the civil aviation market.

How 'bout that -- that a little more like it?

Eventually GWB will be recognized as nothing less than heroic to have gone against much world opinion to thwart Saddam.

I'd put it more bluntly. If he never does another thing right, at least he has soiled his boots with the blood of tyrants. I hope I never live in a country in which the name of tyrannicide is no longer fragrant in the nostrils of the people and their historians.

And now, Mr. Arbusto, if you please....get on out there into the Iraqi boondocks, and go get Saddam. He has a command bunker out there somewhere and big ideas of running an insurgency against us. I want to see his lifeless body being dragged down the main street in Baghdad -- or maybe Kirkuk -- behind an armored vehicle.

It's easy to deny. If the Libs can deny, or brush aside, Stalin's 25 Million deaths, Mao's 30 Million deaths, etc. what's a paltry few thousand by Saddam?

Besides, think of the harsh conditions those poor Taliban are getting down at Guantanamo!

And the injustice of knowing some U.S. prisoners here, don't have Cable TV or Central Air!

These are things far, FAR worse, don'tcha-know.

The Dims and Old Europe may whine over the WMD justification for the war for a long time but I don't think we'll be hearing those complaints from the Iraqis themselves. Who will mourn the demise of such a brutal killer except his accomplices?

For example, the Committee for Free Prisoners claims it has execution records of 8 million Iraqis -- an incredible number for a country with a total population of about 22 million.

But maybe not so incredible for a country of 22+8=30 million????

Now who's on American Idol this week?

If you were a true liberal, you would already know this.

Volunteers have dug up crumbling remains of about 10,000 people in mass graves across southern Iraq, said Bouckaert, of Human Rights Watch. "On an average day we see six or seven mass graves. New ones," said Bouckaert, who has been working in Iraq for more than a month.

Haven't yet found the Weapons of Mass Destruction (but we will). Certainly are finding plenty of Graves of the Mass Destroyed.

8 million.

If true, thats nearly 30% of the population. Only the Khmer Rouge exceeds that. Another atrocity the liberals managed to ignore.

Busted......

Oddly enough though, where I live there are a lot of people who think in such a warped track.

If Bush were president during WWII, the Japanese would just be misunderstood who were dynamiting fish in the pacific, and the Germans(specifically Hitler and the SS) would have been an alternative view that carried a voice of change for the better in Europe. It would have further been explained that Hitler only invaded Poland after being a guarantor not to only because he was convinced Bush was turning the corner on making the Polish people carry their babies full term.

Liberals are the most intellectually dishonest, bitter, amoral enablers of all that is inhuman immaginable. I used to respect certain members of the liberal community. Bradley, Moynihan, Casey(the senior), and those of similar cloth. The pack of feral dogs they ran with turned on them and feasted on their marrow. Damn sad.

You would think Hollyweird types would be sporting woodies and oozing at the dugout over these Iraq revelations. Imagine the endless new script material, complete with really new shocking special effects like exploding humans, tounge slicing, high voltage enemas, and live burrials?

Bush deserves a screen actors guild award for just enearthing so much new material for production!

With a MILLION people dead, how could the small nation of Iraq not know. My guess is that the person in the article chose not to know; just like 50% of Americans chose not to know that Clinton and Gore were frauds.

If they had free access to FOX nooze and our internet, I might agree.

I do agree with your assessment of the 50% of Americans..actually only 43% in the case of the toon. NO excuse for them.

Wouldn't testimonial commercials by Iraqi citizens be perfect for use in Bush's reelection campaign? I think I'll email Karl Rove! (Though he is brilliant and probably thought of this months ago!)

Bear in mind that those who opposed the regime were almost immediately executed. This makes it tough for information to get out.

At the same time, normal Iraqis would have a tough time not noticing that people vanished, and that nobody was willing to talk about it. This created a climate of fear throughout the country that would be pretty tough to miss.

The brutality of Saddam's rule was well known in the west to those who looked, but it's interesting to see information I've known for years reported as fresh news. Apparently a lot of people didn't look.

Did Hell just freeze over?

I can't believe the Chronicle would post a story like this.

This doesn't repeat the mantras of SF, "No War for Oil! or Bush is the new Hitler!"

Chilling!

What is really chilling and scary is the lack of these stories in the left wing media. They are spreading the lies of Vanity Fair re WMDs and ignoring this terrible reality.

We need a TV Free Arab Street channel to run these CDs and other chilling visual realities 24/7 on a channel that the Arab Street can watch. Then they can see who they have supported for decades, mass murderers like Saddam, the Assads, and the murdering mullahs of Iran.

Bunk. Some Iraqi people (and many in the press) are trying to cover up the fact that they KNEW and did nothing. As Torie Clarke said to the press corp - how could you ignore "reams, and reams and reams" of documented evidence of Saddam Hussein's atrocities? You couldn't, unless willfully turning a blind eye.

Some Germans looked the other way while Hitler mass-murdered Jews, pled ignorance as well.

News accounts, neighbors and other evidence will show that Saddam's abuse was well known. Saddam tortured their Olympic soccer team, raped the daughter of a local leader, imprisoned children, kidnapped and murdered opponents - hardly crimes intended to be kept secret. Saddam's regime tortured, raped and imprisoned, murdered and terrorized the Iraqi people throughtout the land...year after year after year for over 24 years. Saddam didn't fill stadiums with Iraqi citizens, force them to watch the systematic murder of their family and friends - to hide his atrocities. His evil acts were made public to instill fear and control the people.

This article is outrageous. Shame on the San Francisco Chronicle for trying to sell such a lie and excuse those who remained silent when they could have spoken out. If the SF Chron is doing an "Easson Jordan and trying to cover their own backside - we will discover who took Saddam's blood money and remained silent about the atrocities. We will know, because Saddam kept the evidence, now in our possession. We will also know which groups and individuals made blood $$$ and incited anti-American hate around the world by fraudulently accusing America of starving Iraqi children - children starved and exploited for that express purpose, of course, by Saddam Hussein. (ANSWER and ANSWER'S free press/University anti-American PR agents ...including the San Fran Chronicle)

Please would someone sell me one of those $3 CD's to send to the NYT!

CNN could use a copy as well. No wait, I forgot they probably shot the footage just didn't want to show it and loose their access.
