"NO NEW TAXES" Rally
MIssouri GOP Action Alert E-Mail | May 30, 2003 | Ann Wagner, Chairman, MO Republican Party

Sent: Friday, May 30, 2003 8:46 AM Subject: "NO NEW TAXES" Rally

Dear Missouri Republican Activist,

As you know, President George W. Bush just passed the third largest tax cut in the history of the United States. This tax relief will stimulate the economy and help working families by increasing the child tax credit, eliminating the marriage penalty tax and encouraging employers to invest in workers and equipment. President Bush has been a constant and effective champion of the taxpayer.

Unfortunately, in Missouri, our governor is desperate to raise our taxes. In fact, Bob Holden would like to pass the largest tax increase package in Missouri’s history. Missourians have said "no" to tax increases multiple times, yet Holden still doesn’t get the message.

Missouri remains the only state in the Midwest mired in recession. We lead the nation last year in jobs lost. Bob Holden’s answer is to raise taxes. This doesn’t make sense! Bob Holden’s appetite for tax increases has become insatiable.

Now is the time to make it very clear to Bob Holden that Missourians do not want higher taxes. The Missouri Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a No New Taxes Rally Thursday, June 5 at the State Capitol. The rally will be held at 2 p.m. on the front lawn of the Capitol. If it rains, it will be held inside.

"Stop Holden" signs will be given to the first 750 attendees. Food will be served on the front lawn between noon and 2pm. Capitol tours will also be available.

For more information about the rally, or if you need transportation, logon to NO NEW TAXES RALLY. There you will find information about the day’s events and a bus departing from your area. If you can’t access the web, you can call the Missouri Republican Party at (573) 636-3146.

You can be sure that the Democrats’ are going to have their supporters on hand rallying for bigger and bigger government. This is our chance to make sure that the voice of commonsense Missourians is heard loud and clear!

Sincerely,

Ann Wagner

Chairman- Missouri Republican Party

The Missouri Chamber of Commerce is hosting lunch. This is a major state-wide rally call, and several state representatives are helping organize busses from adjacent and sequential districts to get the largest group possible attending. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

BUMP

What is the party breakdown of the legislature in Missouri?
Do the parasite nests, such as St. Louis, control the politics in Missouri or are there enough decent, working traditional American families left in the state to overcome the Democrats and their constituencies?

What is the party breakdown of the legislature in Missouri?

Missouri now has a Repub. Senate and a Republican House. I think is has been 50 years or something like that since 'pubbies have held both houses. Term limits are a big reason behind this new takeover. ..... Hopefully Republican Roy Blunt will be the Governor after the 2004 erections

The parasite nests of St. Louis used to control the state, but Republicans finally captured the state legislatures in the 2002 election, thus ending a 50 year tyrannical reign by the democrats.

Republicans dominate both houses for the first session in nearly fifty years. This has led to a "NO NEW TAXES" Budget Showdown with the DIM-ocrat Governor [affectionately known as OTB (One Term Bob) Holden].

Republicans are being led by a house speaker that has truly epitomized the image of a conservative - Catherine Hanaway. To put it mildly, she don't take no S#!+

Times are tough,

money is in short supply,

people are out of jobs,

businesses are leaving the state in droves,

and the governor is short of spending money .........

The Democratic answer is make those same people and businesses pay more taxes for the privilege of being in the state of Missouri.

The Speaker of the House and Republican majority's answer is to reduce spending, and don;t ask the public to vote (again) on a cigarette tax they rejected less than a year ago.

LOL, is this REALLY the phrase that the Missouri GOP wants to use with a President named George Bush coming up for re-election in 2004??

Hopefully Republican Roy Blunt will be the Governor . . .

Roy isn't going to run for govenor, it is his son Matt who will be the candidate. And we all do hope he wins. Go Matt!
