Annan Says U.S. Will Violate Charter if It Acts Without Approval
UNITED NATIONS, March 10 Secretary General Kofi Annan warned today that if the United States fails to win approval from the Security Council for an attack on Iraq, Washington's decision to act alone or outside the Council would violate the United Nations charter.
***
Mr. Annan's remarks drew a sharp response from Washington, where the Bush administration, like its allies overseas, was engaged in a strong lobbying effort to win the necessary nine votes to pass a resolution this week authorizing war.
The White House spokesman Ari Fleischer in a strongly worded retort said that "from a moral point of view," if the United Nations fails to support the Bush administration's war aims, it will have "failed to act once again," as it did in Kosovo in the face of persecution of the ethnic Albanians by Serbia and earlier in Rwanda in the face of genocidal massacres by Hutus against Tutsis.
Some international legal experts also took issue with Mr. Annan's assertions ***

Bye- bye Kofi
Ta-Ta old sweety pie.
We'll try hard not to cry.
But, Saddam must go bye-bye!
Or, many more innocents will surely die.
And that's no lie.

Something strange suddenly occurred to me while gagging at this picture of Annan preparing to tongue Arafat...
Might Chirac, Annan, Putin, Arafat, Castro, etal. all embrace each other like lost lovers because of their respective mutual admiration of evil, and the pilaging and confiscation of UN "funds" which happen to be deposited in one "secret" major Swiss bank account and divied-up by this lot?
Or shall I merely just adjust my tinfoil hat a bit?

"I like this Ari Fleischer guy hes good at slapping the press around without lifting a finger."
I completely agree. The guy has the patience of Job on the one hand, but does not presume for an instant to tolerate the insane lies of the press masquerading as questions on the other. I consider him to be leading the charge in the war to reclaim the language. The PC police had a good run going in dominating what was okay to say and what was gasped at. Ari's relentless and unapologetic declaration of the unvarnished truth has made a significant impact in the tone of public dialogue.
I've had this in mind quite a lot lately. After 8 years of a Clinton bully pulpit and a weak GOP Senate leader it was to the point where you could just hear the groans whenever a conservative spoke. All the cliches- mean spiritedness, racist, tax cuts for the rich, not "caring" about the "little guy"- the libs could spout this crap with impunity. Now with the WH, Senate, House back under good guys control and Fox News, The Factor, Rush, FR, etc. they just can't get away with it any more. Keep at 'em Fleischer! Don't you notice a difference?

Well now... you can't really kick us out. Remember Kofi the UN sits in the US. You may quit and go home though. In fact your taxi is outside and the boat is waiting to take you to Cuba.
Have a nice trip.

Don't worry Coffee, you don't have a monopoly on liberating
oppressed people from insane psychopaths.
We PROMISE not to wear BLUE ARMBANDS with U.N. on them.
Does this hurt BILL CLINTON's chance at landing your job?

Kofi doesn't have the balls to kick us out. Without US dollars, the UN would dry up and blow away - we pay the lion's share of the costs of running that God forsaken "organization".
I wish they would threaten us in a more public manner - so Bush can make a very positive appearance on national TV to announce that we are forclosing on the UN building - the UN has 30 days to evacuate the building. All UN diplomats are to leave the US immediately.
What a glorious day that would be....ahhhh......

The UN is now an infiltrated world forum.......filled with our enemies.
Watching the UN kick and squirm looks good on them......as Bush goes for the jugular.
I suppose the UN is almost UNdone, because its become UNhip or UNcool.....but mostly because its been UNused and UNneccessary, in its misUNderstood time......bye bye Kofi.

I think kofi needs to realize we could do a LOT to violate the charter, but we wont...
Like he could be kidnapped by special forces guerillas and dropped via parachute amongst an enclave of white supremicists up in northwest idaho...
like the movie "deliverance" only "kofi anan" style.
Or we could declare martial law, violate our own treaties, like the rest of these pukes do at will... and sieze all belligerents and then torture and execute them without a trial... just like they do in africa....
kofi needs to get a dose of reality.
the whoring cocaine nights in manhattan... have distorted his sense of reality...
Not suggesting anything be done, just wondering aloud what he really thinks he is. He thinks he is above the fray...
but if we send him home, he will be in the thick of his own country's and continent's insoluable mailaise... and the whores there... will kill you with aids faster than you can slip on a condom...
KOFI... STFU....

I just want that SOB and the League of Nations out of my country. They have finally gone over the top. Years ago, I hated them (91 and in the desert to be exact). Now I really hate them. They could care less if you or I or 1 million Americans died, as long as we paid our dues and let them get DUI's while driving through the streets of New York and get off with Diplomatic Immunity. They can all kiss my rear. It's time to stand up and be heard.

This is the guy who said after the passage of 1441: "It is a whole new ball game. Iraq must comply." Well, so much for that. His words are nothing but hot air.
To: ex-Texan
Here is an email I just posted to the U.N.
Dear Sirs/Ladies:
I understand the Secretary General is of the opinion that should we (the United States of America) attack Iraq without the express approval of the United Nations we would be in violation of the charter.
I think we just might risk it. And when we do, please find us in violation and kick us out of the United Nations. PLEASE.
And while you are at it book your passage to your next U.N. headquarters, hopefully in some other country led by a dictator that just might find themselves in the cross hairs of our next invasion.
The vast majority of American citizens I associate with want the U.S. out of the U.N. and the U.N. out of the U.S. anyway, so if you "ban us for ever", it will take all the political folderol out of the equation for us to be done with your irrelevant organization.
Most Sincerely,
If you would like to drop the good folks a note here is the link to their one of their email address'.

No we won't, Annan, we will but demonstrate the redundancy of the un charter -- and everything else about that dangerously-corrupt cave full of mass-murdering thugs!

That's what I tell those folks who say we need UN approval so we won't have to carry the cost of rebuilding Iraq alone after the war. Where do they think the bulk of the UN's money comes from?
Without all the UN bureaucrats feeding at the trough, it will probably be cheaper to do it alone anyway.
