I have a question. How many of the attorneys that got a death penalty conviction were later disbarred or suspended? How many of the judges were removed or suspended or penalized in some way in these convictions? An outsider looking in on this thinks he made a very hard, wise decision, especially in this climate of fingerpointing and blame.
The next governor, to save his butt, would be placing blame on Ryan for not doing anything about a system that was broken.
Walk a day in my shoes, then we'll talk.

An outsider looking in on this thinks he made a very hard, wise decisionWrong on both counts. It wasn't hard for him because he's not a conservative; and wisdom considers particulars rather than making one-size-fits-all decisions.

King George Ryan is just as liberal as Riordan is too. But the tragedy is that Lyin' Ryan isn't even honest enough to campaign as one. He ran as a anti-abortion, pro-capital punishment tax-cuter, and has since governored to the left of Tom Dasshole. Perhaps that explains why his approval rating has been in the toilet long before the licenses-for-bribes scandal of his even became big news.
But according to the media elites and RINOs/uninformed freepers, Lyin' Ryan is such a "principled conservative Republican" for communting the sentences of all 160 murderers without even reviewing the cases. No wonder political corruption is so rampent, when abuse of power and breaking every one of your campaign pledges is considered a admiral trait.

Voting for Ryan's last opponent was one of the very few times I voted for a Democrat---and I'm proud of that vote.

If I was in his shoes, I'd would have resigned in disgrace years ago and pleded gulity to causing the deaths of dozens of motorists by giving liceneses to incompentant illegal aliens. Only then could I live with myself for what happened under my watch as Secretary of State.
Sure makes a hell of a lot more sence if he wants a "legacy" standing up for "innocent" people that could be killed.

I'm George Ryan, I'm a lying RINO SOB, I'm corrupt and I can do anything I want. How dare all of you simpletons at that hate-filled webzine FreeRepublic critize me. These people are just misunderstood and that reallly irritates me that you question me. Ein volk, ein reich, ein fuhrer. Hail King George.

It just occored to me Senile Ryan is a ringer for Dickie Rhiodan here in Ca. What disaster that would have been.
Similar thought crossed my mind about Riordan in the unlikely event he was elected.

I hope our incoming leftie-Dem Governor Rendell (PA) doesn't get the same idea.
