The notion that the victim must determine, before hand, the intent and capacity for harm of an intruder or attacker is insane.

No doubt. I figure if a guy is brazen enough to kick in my back door in the middle of the night, then he is brazen enough to do just about anything. I'm not going to sit there and quiz him on what he wants. He can answer to my Ruger Super Redhawk .44 Magnum and I'll pull the trigger more than once.

You obviously don't live in Kalifornia. If you're a white male, and you shoot someone other than a white male, you're in for the hassle of your life. Even if you shoot the politically correct villain, you'd better have an audio tape of his stated intent, not to simply harm you, but to kill you.

Still a lot better than being dead.

That's a bummer about California. I live in Utah. We had a Democrat running in the last election (Dave Thomas, not the Wendy's guy) who was doing pretty well until he started talking "common sense" gun-control. After that, he got trounced.

In my locale, we don't put up with that crap. I haven't seen anybody charged with murder for defending their home and family around here, which is the way it ought to be.

That's an amazing link. I remember back when I lived in the midwest, buying a machine gun was relatively simple. I almost bought an Uzi from Ray's in Louisville, KY, for $1200.

In Kalifornia, however, nobody, and I mean, nobody, gets a fully automatic weapon unless (and, notice the sequence) they are 1) in the movie business or 2) in law enforcement.

Yet Kalifornia has the highest per capita rate of crime in the nation. That should tell us something.

That is no joke. The liberals love to hold up Australia, Canada, and Britain as models of how gun control can and should work. I say, 'Work for what?' All three of those countries are starting to have terrible crime problems. British hooligans are terrorizing the city of London confident that nobody is armed. Same goes for Australia and Canada.

They're learning the hard way and we have to stop it from happening here. That's why I love guys like Dell Schanze, who are not afraid to tell the BATF to go shove it and quit harassing him and his employees.

You ought to take a look at the link in #11. I don't necessarily agree with everything he says, but I love the way he stands up for himself and tells the BATF to go get bent.

With the overwhelming evidence proving that self-defense saves lives and "gun control" costs both lives and human suffering, it is very hard to understand why people can't understand the reality of it all and begin to fight the elite government "authorities" and bureaucracy that has created this mess

But the push for "gun control" is not about public safety. It is only about control of the citizenry so that the socialist/communist goals can be advanced more readily. The cost in human lives and suffering is considered acceptable corollary damage.

That's exactly right, gun control has nothing to do with anybody's personal safety.

In the 20th century, over 100 million citizens were murdered by their governments. Many were from forced famines and tens of millions were killed by officials of their own governments taking them to a field and executing them. What precedes tyranny? Gun control every time, and its results are never pretty.
