My comment and inquiry was not about SD Freepers, but about voters for the Liberatarian. Don't be so sensitive.

Vote fraud is cancer that undermines, denegriates and invalidates everybody's vote- right, left, or center. It needs to be uncovered, and rooted out:

I just found an article that confirms that the Libertarian candidate DID drop out and DID throw his support to Thune. This minor little item barely made it to local papers, if at all.

By 2 a.m., Thune held a fairly commanding lead of more than 3,000 votes. By sunrise, Johnson had made up the ground and edged ahead.

The old find-the-votes-you-need long after the polls close trick. Somehow it didn't work in Baltimore this year.

If we had that kind of error in SD that was discovered later, the Pine Ridge Reservation would not have felt they had to find the votes and reported the actual votes and then the correction could have put Thune back over the top. HA

If my response came off as overly-sensitive, it was not meant that way. I have been walking around feeling like I got punched in the gut since about 9:00 yesterday morning.

I am thrilled beyond belief over the overall victory in the Senate, but it feels like being on a team that wins the super-bowl and sitting on the bench the whole game.

Thune is playing this right, showing great concern about the gravity of asking for the recount. Remember the repellant vision of Al Gore and his minions smacking their lips in anticipation. This way, if it looks favorable, he will look like he is reluctantly doing it only because it's the right thing to do.

Yes but....

Believe me I want the SD seat as much as you (still want it and believe there is some fraud on those reservations that I hope we go after) Remember we need a reason to pin Daschel with the scam in 2004 for the next SD trip to the plate. He spent all of Tuesday on the Reservation.

Here we go again! Just like in the election in Florida, 2000 by trying to count legally cast ABSTAIN votes (= blank spaces, or dimpled chads) as votes FOR a candidate!

Now the democrats AND the Republicans will both be trying to "GORE" this election!

To "GORE" an election is to count ABSTAIN votes as votes FOR yourself!

What is needed here is for the election officials to count in the vote totals all the ABSTAIN votes ( blank spaces, or non=punched chads) as ABSTAIN votes!

We still have a shot at revenge for John Thune's close loss. We have Louisiana. I lived there (LA) for 6 years and I know what happened the last time Little Mary ran against Woody Jenkins. Jenkins got robbed! You see it's much easier for the dead to vote in southern Louisiana. They bury them above ground because of the water table. They just open the lid, go to the pols, maybe stop in The Quarter for a drink and go right back to the crypt. Mary's daddy, Moon Landrieu, is very good friends with the dead in NO, you see, he was mayor for a long time, and they made him mayor every election. (By the way, Moon is his real name. It is a name to befit the act he performed daily to the good citizens of NO, an old LA RAT Boss Hog, cut directly for the Long machine).

Besides I want John Thune to come back and bitch slap Tommie Da Hole in 04, and he'll do it.

I do not think that a recount here will degenerate into the type of fiasco that there was in Florida. This state will not put up with that kind of garbage, and our laws are clear on how the recount is done.

"Thune should NOT throw in the towel. If the tables were reversed, the Democrats woud move heaven and hell to reverse the results. The only way to defeat an enemy is to beat them at their own game."

"In war there is no substitute for victory" - General Douglas MacArthur.

I have seem to become like a dog worrying a bone to the marrow on the House and Senate seats.
I'm not going to be happy until there is a "super majority" in both the House of Reps. and the Senate.
A "super majority" of RINOS like Snow (RINO-ME), Collins (RINO-ME); Arlan Specter (RINO-PA) et. al is not the "super majority" I am speaking of...but a Senate comprised of persons (man or woman) the calibre of John Thune is.
I would also love to see one more added to our majority from Louisiana after what Landreiu has stated concerning her campaigning against Bush.

The South shall raaaahhhhzzzz ah-gin with Conservative Republicans.

a little busting of some fraud could go a long way in detering more fraud when Daschel lines up in 2004.

You know, it reminds me of how you have to deal with teenagers who behave criminally. What do you do to teach them a lesson, ignore their bad behavior and think their bad behavior is going to go away? No. That does nothing but ENCOURAGE it.

And what do you do with babies who want to hold their hand to the fire? You tell them NO, fully expecting they won't learn till they're burned.

WELL, THE RATS NEED TO GET BURNED.

I feel really bad for John Thune. The election fraud on the Indian reservations need to be stopped. This is not a two year house seat, but a SIX year Senate term. John Ensign conducted a recount when he so narrowly lost to Harry Reid and did it with dignity. He came back to win 2 years later. I say to John Thune--do it you owe to your supporters and to the integrity of our voting system.

. The American people do not want leaders with recounts- they want leaders with class.

...and, there are ways to seek a recount with class.

The classless method was the one the Dems used in Florida in 2000. I think that the American people will not hold it against Thune if he presents a recount request with some dignity, stressing ligitimate illegalities. (Of course, by "American people", I am discounting the hard left, and Dem lackies, who are going to cry "foul", in a classless way...)

The American people want leaders, with class, that win fair and square and simply requesting a state wide recount, as opposed to only counties which might favor you, does not imply 'no class'.

Speak for yourself please...
