You're over your head in this debate, Berned, and either unwilling to admit it or ignorant of the fact.

Polycarp, you've been played for a chump by the Whore of Babylon, and now this discovery puts you behind the theological 8-ball. You can no more spin this than clinton can spin the N. Korean nuke revelation.

Your implication that the only two choices available to people are Roman Catholicism or ATHEISM betrays your oft-stated mantra (here on FR) that "Catholics accept Evangelicals as Christians" as having been a lie all along.

Roman Catholicism was utterly debunked this week. It is the phoney man-made religion we have always said it was. The real Christians will get out of it, as they are commanded by God to do in Rev 18, the rest will be Left Behind after the Rapture.

You're at least good for a hearty belly laugh, if nothing else Berned.

It isn't threatening to me. It rather means nothing to me.
And how did the word bias come into play? Oh, right, questioning those presenting it who have a bias toward
presenting things and calling them holy and from Christ, Peter, Paul, John the Baptist, et al - only to find later
that they were selling a fraud. See, that's part of the
consideration in determining the truth of what is being presented. You look at the evidence and it's credibility, and if it's lacking, you look at the person and their credibility. Skepticism climbs as credibility falls.
Just proper examination of the facts and good old fashioned
skepticism. If that's bias, then I'm biased. LOL.

You can no more spin this than

If you had any shred of academic rigor or intellectual honesty you would admit that there is nothing to spin. This report is irrelevant. No one has seen the actuall ossuary or performed any kind of rigorous testing on it.

Frankly, there is no proof it even exists.

If you want to hang the proof of fundamentalist belief structures on this thin a thread of evidence, I encourage you to do so.

It only points out how laughable YOPIOS is and how easy you are deceived.

"Catholics accept Evangelicals as Christians" as having been a lie all along.

Wrong. I have always accepted evangelicals as fellow Christians who happen to have part of the Truth of Roman Catholicism, admixed with a few real whoopers.

Its only the evangelicals around here on this forum that judge their fellow religionists as not worthy of the title of Christian.

I consider even my most bitter rivals here to be Christians. I don't run around telling them they are in the Whore of Babylon or if they adhere 100% to the principles of the reformation they are damned to hell.

No, only you YOPIOSists throw around those pathetic charges.

Thought you might find this enlightening: From New Advent's online newsletter...

An "earth-shattering" box of bones?
Ancient artifact may have held the bones of St. James

The magazine Biblical Archeology Review has announced a major new discovery near Jerusalem. It's an empty ossuary -- an ancient burial box for bones -- bearing the inscription Yaakov bar Yosef a khui Yeshua ("James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus"). Some scholars believe that this may refer to St. James the Less, the apostle and "brother of the Lord" mentioned in the Holy Bible.
The story is already being widely reported in the secular press. (See The New York Times and the Associated Press, for instance.) You can expect to see much more coverage in the weeks ahead.
Some have suggested that this might force the Church to change the ancient teaching on the perpetual virginity of Mary. Don't worry. This doctrine is infallible, and is guaranteed by the Holy Spirit to be true. Despite what some scholars and reporters might think, this artifact does not contradict Catholic dogma. To convince yourself, and to prepare to defend the Faith to others, read the articles below.

1. Saint James the Less.
There are two apostles named St. James: James the Greater (brother of St. John the Apostle) and James the Less (first Bishop of Jerusalem). The ossuary, if authentic, would have belonged to St. James the Less. Read more about him in this Catholic Encyclopedia article. More....

2. The Virgin Birth of Christ.
An excellent article on the dogma of the Perpetual Virginity of Mary, which teaches that she was a virgin before, during, and after the conception and birth of her Divine Son. Excerpted from the 1912 Catholic Encyclopedia. More....

3. The Brothers of the Lord.
The ossuary speaks of "James the Son of Joseph and Brother of Jesus," and the Bible calls James and three others "brothers" of Jesus. Does this contradict the irrefutable fact of Mary's perpetual virginity? Absolutely not -- and this article explains why. More....

Surprised by Truth 3. Subtitled More Men and Women Who Found New Life in the Catholic Church. In Patrick Madrid's widely anticipated sequel, ten more converts explain the scriptural and historical reasons that brought them to the Catholic Church. The first two books in this series were excellent, and sold hundreds of thousands of copies. This one promises to be the best yet.   Buy....

Biblically though, that doesn't happen. Most of the time they list the father and not the money. Now, not being Jewish, I don't know what Jews usually do. When I see it listed in scripture (the begats, etc.) it seems the lineage is the father's.

Wow.

Your pride and inability to admit you've been played for a chump by Rome has made you truly pathetic now.

You have now been forced to confront the Truth about Roman Catholicism, and God is watching to see if you will VOLUNTARILY CHOOSE to stay in a cult that you now know has been debunked, or whether you will leave it (as He commands you to in Rev 18) and enter into into the Truth of God's Holy Word.

The Roman Catholic Church has -- this day -- been exposed for all to see as the lying Whore of Babylon. On Judgement Day, Polycarp, you will NOT be able to plead ignorance.

You, and many others on these threads, need to consider that.

On Judgement Day, Polycarp, you will NOT be able to plead ignorance.

Neither will you.

And, unlike Polycarp, you will also not be able to plead that you acted in charity.

Repent!

Repent from telling the clearly-stated Bible truth that Jesus had 4 brothers and (at least) two sisters? What is "charitable" about letting "doctrines of demons" go unchallenged? Jesus never hesitated for one second to expose the doctrinal lies of the Pharisees, did He?

Bible believing Christians have NEVER fallen for the "Mary ever-virgin" lie that has now been so dramatically debunked and exposed. Are we to apologize for having defended God's Word now that God has honored our fidelity to the Bible by providing physical proof that we have been right all along?
