It won't be 35 yrs. That's max, and since when did our criminal justice system insist on max for anyone. And, oh boy! we get to feed and house this nogood for x number of years in our jails, where he will probably live better than he did in El S--shelter,food,medical, etc.

After 9/11.....I believe juries will be handing down maximum sentences.....and I don't think he can expect good treatment in lockup either.

if the past is any indication of the future he will do no more than one seventh of the thirtyfive years and then turn loose with fifty dollars and new clothes. nowhere near the border.

Our safety and security shouldn't even be a priority issue. We are guaranteed that under the Constitution. We should take that for granted. We still have a Constitution don't we?

No, it shouldn't have to be a priority, but then you are assuming our government governs according to the Constitution which we both know they don't.

Hopefully 9/11 will make a difference.....maybe we could get some victims' family members appointed to the parole board.

It won't be long before supervisors (SENATORS) will be making the excuses for their voter base.

So how did he get back in....looks like he won't be crossing any more borders any time soon. 35 years in prison sounds like a good start in solving this particular problem. And if he has any assets, make sure they get to the victims of 9/11.

In many cases, this person could possibly be charged with murder, if his actions contributed to the deaths of others, as in New York and Washington. I wonder why he is not charged as an accessory to murder? It sounds like his actions contributed to the terrorist attacks.

I distinctly remember George W. Bush saying that anybody who even helped the terrorists in any way was as guilty as they were. Shouldn't that earn this guy the death penalty? 35 years is a slap on the wrist.

Good point. If not an accessory, maybe aiding and abetting. Also, sometimes they add more charges after the arrest and further investigation. If they can make the case, I bet they will go for it after 9/11.

El Salvador? But I thought all of the people coming in from our southern border were really hard workers just looking for a better life.

I got mugged a few years back by a guy from Honduras in this same city where this guy is going to be sentenced for helping the terrorist. He worked down the street in resturant and stole my purse outside of a 7Eleven. This city is overrun with illegal alien criminals.

maybe, but there still is no rush by the government to close the borders. that leads me to believe they are not that serious about the daily invasion taking place.
