Two Republicans joined Democrats in blocking legislation that would have stopped transgender athletes from competing in girls’ sports in K-12 schools in Nebraska.
A bill that would stop student athletes from participating on sports teams for the opposite sex, as well as using locker rooms and bathrooms for the opposite sex, was blocked by a filibuster on Friday in Nebraska, according to a report by Nebraska Public Media.
After four hours of debate, 31 state senators voted for the legislation (LB575), but the bill needed 33 votes in order to end the filibuster.

The Nebraska Unicameral legislature is the only one in the country that is non-partisan. The candidates with the two highest number of votes in the primary face each other in the general election.
Of course they all have a party affiliation but not in the legislature. This just illustrates the problem with the Uniparty, where it doesn’t matter a damn whether someone has an R or a D after their name.
Nebraska state Sen. Megan Hunt (I-District 8), meanwhile, argued that the legislation protecting girls’ sports is simply an expression of “discrimination” and “hate,” and called Kauth a “bigot.”

I don’t believe Megan Hunt REALLY gives a damn about discrimination. More likely she was bought off by a doctors group or Hospital Association or Big Pharma or all 3.
If Megan Hunt wants to get screamed at face to face by another Megan she should go see Megyn Kelly. Megyn Kelley is absolutely livid about transgenderism.
Republican business groups and big donors don’t want a confrontational approach on these issues because they don’t want the State and their businesses targetted by out of state Leftist boycotts.
This almost already happened.
They had an entire MMA card of men vs women somewhere in Europe.
One of the women ended up with a fractured skull.

These two senators should never win another Republican Primary election in Nebraska
What’s been OBVIOUS recently is that in Red States, Republicans are often just people looking for power, but who know achieving that is not possible as a Democrat, so they run as Republicans, and sadly often win.

My mom made a good point the other day. There will be sports for men. And then their will be another league - also for men who want to play dress up.
Maybe, but what else was attached to the bill? No mention of that......
