Ron DeSantis: One Million Republican Registration Advantage ‘Is Within Reach’ in Florida
Breitbart ^ | April 5, 2024 | Hannah Knudsen

A voter registration advantage of one million is “within reach” in Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said, following reports that Republicans are nearing 900,000 more registered voters in the Sunshine State than Democrats.

“Prior to 2021, FL never had more registered Republicans than Democrats,” DeSantis said. “Now, a million voter R registration advantage is within reach.”

“Hillsborough (Tampa) is about to flip from D to R, which will mean every county in the Tampa Bay market has a R advantage in this previously ‘swing’ region of the state,” the governor continued, detailing the significance of this shift:

After surpassing Democrats in November 2021, Republicans continued to expand their lead, toppling Democrats by more than 100,000 in March 2022. That figure doubled to 200,000 in July. By December 2022, Republicans led by 350,000. In February 2023, Republicans outnumbered Democrats by 400,000 registered voters. The advantage rose to 680,030 as of October 31, 2023. The Republican National Committee (RNC) told Breitbart News in December that GOP voter registration “nearly doubled” in the Sunshine State in 2023 alone.

According to Florida’s Voice, the GOP voter registration advantage stood at 889,569 voters as of April 4, adding further confidence to the Florida GOP.

He was president once before and didn’t throw MAGA under the bus. You have no basis for believing that.

Trump spoke with Dianne Feinstein about banning assault weapons after Parkland. The NRA told him he'd lose his base. He needed to get re-elected.

If he returns to the White House, he'll be a lame duck and he'll have no more use for MAGA.

He will, however, have many incentives to play nice with the Democrats. Quid pro quo. "Throttle back and the lawfare and we can work together."

Trump has always been an old NYC liberal at heart.

“ Trump has always been an old NYC liberal at heart.”

Ironically, this old NYC liberal was the best president in my lifetime.

Comparing DeSantis to Reagan is a bit laughable. The only thing DeSantis had going for him was that he was aligned with Trump and MAGA. He blew that to hell. Other than that he is a below average political figure, unable to connect, to lead, where Reagan and Trump both are historic in that regard.

“Other than that he (DeSantis) is a below average political figure, unable to connect, to lead . . .”

Below average? Reelected with 60 percent of the vote.

Unable to connect? Reelected with 60 percent of the vote.

Unable to lead? Reelected with 60 percent of the vote.

I would be interested in reading your point-by-point comparison of Reagan's first six years as governor with DeSantis' first six years as governor.

He sure has gotten a lot done in the face of full national media opposition trying to destroy him at times, and was very bold in pursuing his agenda and got re-elected with nearly 60% of the vote - not bad for someone who is "below average and unable to connect."
