Former President Donald Trump is within single digits of President Joe Biden in blue New Jersey, the latest survey from Emerson College Polling/PIX11/the Hill found.
The survey asked respondents, “In a hypothetical 2024 Presidential match-up between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, who would you vote for at this time?”
Less than a majority, 46 percent, said they would vote for Biden, followed by 39 percent who said they would support Trump. This puts Biden’s lead in the single digits in New Jersey — a difference of seven percentage points between the two. Another 15 percent remained undecided.
Biden’s lead shrinks even further when third-party candidates are thrown into the mix. In that scenario, 41 percent support Biden, followed by 36 percent who support Trump — a difference of five percentage points. Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. comes in third place with eight percent support, followed by one percent for Cornel West and one percent for Jill Stein. Another 14 percent remain undecided.

Book by John Kenneth Galbraith The Liberal Hour (1960) which I read at the time said the voters generally start to act unsure but when the curtain is closed in the voting booth they vote Democrat in “the liberal hour” by themselves.

I believe New Jersey residents will do the same, sadly.
IMO it would be noteworthy if reliable polls show The Big Guy leading DJT by margins substantially lower than his margin of victory in 2020. For example: The Big Guy beat DJT by 20 points in Illinois in 2020 yet he only leads DJT by 10 points next September.
I'm not sure what the demographics are in New Jersey. It will give us a good idea of why they're dissatisfied with Biden. Even if it's a bad year, Biden will still win NJ 52-48.

I agree, Trump really doesn’t have a chance of winning New Jersey. However, the fact that it is that close and what should be a state they don’t have to think about, has got to have some level of panic on the inside of the Biden campaign.
I doubt Trump would devote too many resources to it, but it will likely force the Biden camp to spend money there. They didn’t plan on.
I live here. I support the guy. But I don’t know. Numerically in a FAIR ELECTION we could go Trump. But Essex, Hudson, Passaic, Mercer, Bergen, Middlesex counties are solid blue controlled by DemocRat political machines. In any close election, the Rats can ALWAYS “FIND” just enough “missing” ballots to carry them through. BESIDES the GOP is gutless and if they find their balls, Democrat appointed judges like EndMoron and Kookookan always deny them. Worse comes to worse they will import voters from the Rotten Apple - NY Ciry.
If Biden is having trouble in New Jersey, he'll have problems in other states, especially where there are many Hispanics. New Mexico, Colorado, just to name a few.

The narrative he’s in a winning posture are laughable at this point. Yes I know election is 7 months away so things can change... but Biden is just getting smashed!
He’s down HUGE EVERYWHERE, not only in the swing states, but even the DEEP BLUE STATES, he’s polling down 10+ points in places like NY and CA etc... and currently the momentum just continues to move Trump with every single poll further and further. If this trend Continues, you may see MN go GOP for the first time in my lifetime. Was less than 45k votes in 16... trending continues, I would expect MN to be in play by November.
Obviously trending can and probably will change, but the narrative that President Potato is doing well is just flat out lies.
He’s lost 20% of his support or so since 2020, so even if you buy that 2020 had no corruption, Biden has lost 20% of his support, while Trump has lost a whopping 3% of his.. and Trump’s is actually higher than he was in 2020 because he’s picked up a lot of what Biden has lost.
Add to that, the fact that 2024 will have 3rd parties on the ballot, when 2020 did not, and math for Biden winning is just not there.
A few tens of thousands of votes in a few states, 3 of which are functionally off the table already mathematically... AZ, GA and NV which was Blue in 20, certainly looks like it will be solid Red in NOV.
So basically Trump needs to just win 1 of PA/MI and WI, and he’s in.... And he’s polling ahead in all 3... Though PA did NOTHING to curb the corruption of 2020, so I would not be surprised that Trump loses PA not because he loses the real vote, but they will fraud it galore since the got away with it in 2020, no reason they wont do it again even more brazenly.
WI however has done many things to stop the hanky panky that went on in 2020, and MI looking good too, though they didn’t do as much a WI.
I don’t see any way Biden has any shot at WI given the clean up of the garbage that wen ton in 2020 and the return of 3rd parties to the ballot.. I just don’t see it.. Not that it will be a blowout there for him, but Biden’s 20.5k vote lead in 2020, no way he can sustain that.
We shall see.. Personally I’d expect the map to look like 16 with NV at least added to the count, on the low end, though as I said NOTHING was done in PA to counter the corruption of 2020 and the PA GOP were active participants in it.. so even though Trump will clearly win based on every indicator I see, he may not carry it anyway, just like 2020 due to the flagrant theft that was allowed here.
much of NJ isn’t blue, but the plan to empty nyc and many spilled across the Hudson sure didn’t help matters.
