McConnell said he started taking a second look at his career plans following the death of his sister-in-law, Angela Chow, in a car crash in early February.
“When you lose a loved one, particularly at a young age, there’s a certain introspection that accompanies the grieving process. Perhaps it is God’s way of reminding you of your own life’s journey to prioritize the impact of the world that we will all inevitably leave behind,” he said, noting his recent birthday. “I turned 82 last week. The end of my contributions are closer than I’d prefer.”
He sold out to China for most of his political career.
He helped to destroy Trump’s first administration and got richer shipping what was left of MAGA back to China.
““I turned 82 last week. The end of my contributions are closer than I’d prefer.””
Too bad for America, that it wasn’t 20-30 years ago...
If they elected a Democrat governor then it is not a “deeply Red State”
Did the bill pass with a veto proof majority, just in case?
North Carolina elected a Democrat governor. They only elected a Democrat for President once since 1976 (Barack Obama in 2008).
Sounds like Mitch is a bit afraid after his S-I-L’s death...perhaps it Wasn’t an accident, is that it Mitch? China on your mind?
Her billions of dollars did her no good.
It just passed the Senate 34-3. 80-20 majority in the House.
Looks veto proof.
Funny how that works. I see a lot of very wealthy people who are just very unhappy. It’s almost as if material achievement itself doesn’t bring lasting happiness. Who’dathunk?
I thought such a law already existed in Kentucky?
“Looks veto proof.”
Now we wait for the mortician...
The corrupt, lying, big spending teacher unions along with the Jefferson County (Louisville) steal machine robbed us in 2019. A real putz pubbie candidate in ‘23 blew it. Deeply red but can be quite gullible state.
No - the prior law said the governor had to appointment from a choice of members of the same political party. Beshear has indicated he would not obey that law and appoint a Democrat if there was a vacancy claiming the law is not constitutional...if it is, I’m not sure how this one is, either...at least in the interim until the special election occurs.
Beshear had an approval rating in the mid 60s and many times the cash of Daniel Cameron - who was massacred and slandered in a sustained ad campaign he was not really able to respond to. Beshear, a left wing extremist who could run in California or Massachusetts, portrayed himself as the mainstream candidate and Cameron as the extremist. Same story as many other candidates in recent elections past - vastly outworked, outraised by the Left.
Maybe I was a bit harsh, a putz campaign.
You are right. Cameron is a fabulous man, but buffoon voters in Ky got BS’d and overwhelmed by brownshirt propaganda.
Better yet, return the election of senators to the state legislatures.
