Donald Trump Jr. is lobbying his father to select a running mate who can take a punch — and hit back even harder, he told The Post.
“What I want in that role is I want a fighter,” Trump Jr. said. “I understand what they are going to throw at us.
“In 2016 you needed someone to balance out [the ticket] — that’s where Mike Pence made sense, sort of the yin and yang, but [given] the vicious nature of the swamp and the insanity we see on a daily basis, you need someone who can take those hits,” said Trump Jr., 46, the oldest of the former president’s five children.

Definitely not TC. Just not a serious pick. Ideologically fine, but just not politically experienced. And IMO does not add anything to Election Day itself.
JDV - we need him to stay in the Senate. And, like TC, he does not add to the electability of Trump.
VR - has the stones, and the smarts, and the charisma. He would add to the ticket in terms of electability.
Getting Trump elected outweighs, BY FAR, any other consideration.

I think Donald Trump Jr. is wrong here. Before you can govern, you’ve got to win. The VP pick has to attract enough soccer moms to overcome the inevitable Democrat cheating.
Yeah, I know Pence was picked for a similar reason. And he crashed and burned. So this time Trump has got to be more careful. Find someone who is both loyal and attractive to the squishy middle. I’d prefer a smart and likable conservative woman.
Who that is, I don’t know (yet).
