SCOTUS denies stay of sentence for ex-Trump adviser Peter Navarro
ABC news ^ | 3/18/24 | ByDevin Dwyer

Former Trump White House adviser Peter Navarro must report to prison on Tuesday as scheduled, after the Supreme Court on Monday denied the stay of his sentence.

Chief Justice John Roberts, in a short opinion, wrote that he saw "no reason to disagree" with lower courts, which also rejected Navarro's request.

Navarro's appeal on the merits remains pending, but he will have to begin serving his sentence in the meantime.

Navarro was ordered on March 11 to report to prison in Miami on Tuesday, to serve a four-month sentence.

He was convicted in September of two counts of contempt of Congress for refusing to provide testimony and documents to the House Select Committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Who besides me thinks Justice Roberts is compromised? Every previous legal precedent suddenly seems to have a "Trump exception".

Chief Clown of the US Supreme Fart, John “Ain’t No Partisan Judges!” Roberts, rubber-stamps the rigged DC legal system, which only convicts and imprisons Republicans and conservatives, and lets criminals like The Tater and his doper kid Hunter slide.

The SCOTUS rarely stays a sentence. It may affirm a lower court stay, but not overturn a denial of a stay.

I’m convinced he was the leaker.

That would explain the "no consequences" outcome...

This is why we need to deliver Trump a House that has power beyond that ever seen before, with a Senate to match. Then we can impeach the man & secure the conviction as well.

And Hillary Clinton...?

She just destroyed all her evidence and plead the fifth

What difference did it make?

*************************************************************

I see reason to “disagree” with you Roberts.......in two words, it’s Eric Holder. Congress found him in Contempt and because he was a democrat he didn’t have to go to prison as have several others. This is CLEAR “Selective Prosecution” and you know it.

“Who besides me thinks Justice Roberts is compromised?”

That was apparent with the Obamacare vote. Clear as day.

He was convicted in September of two counts of contempt of Congress for refusing to provide testimony and documents to the House Select Committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Yet Eric Holder was found in Contempt of Congress and wore it like a badge of honor.

No prison sentence.

No nothing.

The "reason to disagree" is that the J6 Committee was itself illegal - a violation of House rules as soon as Pelosi refused to seat the two selections of then-Minority Leader McCarthy, and naming two of her own in their place: Cheney and Kinzinger.

Thus any "subpoena" they issued was without any legal authority.

No I am not kidding. Biden's Presidency is providing a sea change across this nation that hasn't been see n in this nation in my lifetime, & perhaps ever.

If you don't believe that, watch & see. But there is evidence that comes in every day that a massive sea change is under way.
