Securities Exchange Commission passes final climate disclosure rules in a 3-to-2 vote

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Wednesday adopted final rules regarding climate disclosures in a 3 to 2 vote.

The final rules left out some of the more burdensome reporting requirements for greenhouse gas emissions that were in the proposed rule, but they still maintain many of the other climate-related reporting requirements that critics say will be costly to comply with.

"Today, the SEC announced that it has allowed radical climate activists to hijack our capital markets. Unable to push their unpopular agenda through Congress, these leftists have found a willing partner in SEC Chairman Gary Gensler,” House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., said in a statement.

It’s funny, but the Constitution makes mention only of legislative law. It says nothing about bureaucratic and judicial ‘law’.

So do something about it, Scalise! SCOTUS has already told you these rules aren't legitimate. Telling us just angers us more - and at both parties!

Companies must comply with carbon emission standards according to the rules set by the SEC or face the consequences.
The standards are whatever the SEC says
.gov needs money
Letitia James is suing JBS food group ,a wholly owned subsidiary of the Brazilian multinational JBS S.A, for committing fraud by misrepresentation of their climate change policies, using the same law she used against Trump. Worked once.

Is this the new game? Govt agencies make law via rules and the SCOTUS must come behind to strike down each instance?

SCOTUS should prepare a template ruling where they can simply replace the text particulars and get it out quick. Arguments in the AM and publish the ruling in the PM.

Another LAW by rule. Why do we have a congress?

Because Congress doesn't yet know it is irrelevant.

U.S. Constitution

Article 1. The Congress shall construct a thermostat to control the temperature of planet earth.

Article 2. Every hour, the Congress shall adjust that thermostat.

Brad Sherman, “I think the companies will comply . I think many of them will like the fact there is a standardized way to define their greenhouse gas effect. This is long overdue. I’m an old CPA. The goal is to report to shareholders and perspective shareholders the information they think is material to their investment decision. For an awful lot of investors the greenhouse gas effect of a company is material and what this is will do is to cause companies to compete for capital by reducing their greenhouse gas effect. This is going to help us in our climate goals.”
