CNN has been desperately treading water for years now. The former king of cable news has been bleeding ratings for years, with Fox News typically topping all the networks night after night. CNN still fancies itself the "most trusted name in news," yet, even former CEO Chris Licht admitted last year that that trust — assuming at one point they actually had it — is long gone and they need to restore it. He didn't last long.
The problem, of course, is that CNN claims to be fair and without bias, yet anti-conservative views have long been part of its DNA, as the network's on-air talent routinely bases its reports on Democratic Party talking points. Even token conservatives on the network are a joke, and sound more like liberal pundits.
The struggling network is now desperately trying to get out of its death spiral, and step one is to cut costs by axing the remaining big name talents who have extremely large salaries.
New CEO Mark Thompson is preparing ruthless cuts to remake the network as ratings plunge — leaving Anderson Cooper, Chris Wallace, Wolf Blitzer and Jake Tapper facing dates with the axman, a source says.
“Anderson knows he’s on the chopping block because he makes a whopping $20 million a year. He’s already started looking for a new gig!” a network insider exclusively tells In Touch. “Chris Wallace takes $8 million and figures he’s a likely target, too!”
Insiders say other network favorites — including $15 million man Blitzer and $8 million gent Tapper – are also bracing for the boot!

CNN brass to Soros: Quick, send more millions.
Soros: What happened to the money I sent you last month?
CNN: Uh, we kinda spent it all.
Old Fox: We report, you decide.
CNN all the time: We decide, we censor, you sit down and shut up.
"Orange Man Bad."
They can use an AI version of Peter Jennings. They have 30 years worth of him on tape. Just feed him the “today’s news” and he’ll be on tv with the same accent and everything.
Yes. Same disease that turned Robin Williams' brain to mush, prompting his suicide.
Horrible.
used to watch CNN during desert storm. Then when Clinton got impeached, Woodruff and shaw had an emotional breakdown on camera crying. That was the day i left CNN.,
Maybe not in some airports. The dirty little secret was that CNN paid airports a fee to broadcast their crap. When CNN stopped paying, airports dropped their channel.
I’ve been traveling a little bit. From a quick observation, I’m noticing that there are less tvs in the airports nowadays unless you’re having a drink at a bar watching a game. Instead, I see more power outlets everywhere so I see people recharging their phones or ipads/computers.
I rarely watch TV on my big-screen, I watch “TV” on my laptop for the most part.
Now it makes sense why almost every TV was CNN. Once WiFi was free and fast/cell data cheap and smart phones common, no need to watch a TV.
An epic fire that burns the HQ to the ground would be best.
