Millions of Americans who use AT&T’s phone network are having their phone calls monitored by a surveillance program called Data Analytical Services (DAS), which has had coordination with federal and local law enforcement agencies.
According to a document obtained by WIRED, DAS has been secretly collecting and analyzing over one trillion domestic phone records within the U.S. each year.
The program used to be called Hemisphere and is run by AT&T in coordination with different agencies, according to Fox News.
The program uses a technique known as chain analysis. This goes after those who have been in direct contact with a criminal suspect, and anyone else who has had communications with them.
This program also allows law enforcement agencies to receive any data access in the records of any calls that use AT&T’s infrastructure. This information can include phone numbers, locations, dates and even the addresses of those subscribed.
According to Fox, this surveillance raises serious concerns about privacy rights and the 14th Amendment.
This program has reportedly been operating for more than ten years and has received millions of dollars from the White House’s Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) under a program called HIDTA, or "high-intensity drug trafficking area."

lol... my local law enforcement can’t even enforce basic traffic laws, highly doubt they’re kicking in doors based on surveilled phone calls.
That said, Snowden is a hero for turning the lights on to how corrupt the feds are.
Biden aint done yet.
On Fox News, Sonya LaBosco, Biden’s Director of the Air Marshals National Council said Air Marshals are quietly following Americans who flew into the DC area around Jan 6, 2021.
Vengeful Biden’s TSA has now ordered Air Marshals (who are DOT employes w/ no L/E duties):
<><>to follow J6 people who have not had any type of criminal investigation –
<><>they haven’t committed a crime,
<><>there is no evidence their J6 attendance was illegal,
<><>now three years later Biden insists they are to be followed 24/7.
The Fox News host weighed in, “You’re saying Air Marshals aren’t…tracking terrorists at all?”
HAMAS is laughing so hard they’re rolling on the floor while planning their next moves in the US...
Wake me when someone goes to jail over this.
So all it takes is one criminal “suspect” here, and they can monitor ALL Freepers?
This goes after those who have been in direct contact with a criminal suspect, and anyone else who has had communications with them.
~~~
Sounds like those cute little apps they came out with several years ago for covid “contact tracing” got rolled up into something new after the demand for it waned.
ME: Hah! I don’t have AT&T, you suckers who do are being surveilled!
YOU: Ever get called by someone using AT&T?
ME: Uh...?
The government is ignoring the Constitution and is violating our privacy. The fact that the government does it by proxy changes nothing.
I think they’re doing more than that. In the past couple of weeks I’ve experienced my text messages being delayed. I f I text “how was you’re Thanksgiving” it goes through with no problem. If I text political rhetoric it suddenly doesn’t want to transmit. I have had a definite feeling I’m being monitored.
All they need to do is have a senile judge who signs every piece of paper shoved in front of them, which is most, and they are in the clear. But Nooooooo. Even that sop is a bridge to far.
Hi fedscum, is there anything in particular that y'all are interested in or are you just trying to make yourselves feel relevant ?
Or
If you're scrutinizing me you're wasting your time. I suggest that you try watching the local mosque weapons depot and terrorist training site.
The enemy is our own government within.
I’ve noticed here on FR that if I Post a comment about something generic, like on a funny Thread when I start to fill in the “To: Field” the FReepers I Post to regularly will pop up in order after I type in the 1st name and put the “;” semicolon in then the next name will pop up and then I put in the “;” and it continues.
If I’m commenting on something political then suddenly I have to type each name in 1 letter at a time...
Been going on for years. Coincidentally starting on Jan 7 2021...
I think we can rest assured that all the other phone network providers have similar programs...
Sometimes I go old school: leave the phone home when going somewhere.
I’ll be sure to pepper my conversations with special words for them to chase their tails with.
I got an email from the feds this morning, it said I need to call my mom more often.
ONLY HAVE A “HOME PHONE”.
I keep getting calls from “Kids/grandkids sounding pitiful’ calling from “jail” for bail.
NEVER had any kids.
AM CAPABLE of swearing at them in high decibels.
I admire that. I can do it, but at my age, I am beginning to depend on it for...
“Damn. What is that...that...thing? Damn. I can see that...thing...floating in front of my eyes...but I cannot actually make it crystallize in my mind!”
So I pull out the phone and look it up...:)
I suspect I am not alone in the technological solution to an age old problem!
