Good article on what appears to be a realistic assessment from the Ukraine's military CINC.

The General has a longer piece titled "Modern Positional Warfare and how to win it"

And please don’t waste your time replying that I am an Ukraine or Russia apologist. I am neither - and do adhere to the Powell Doctrine, although it needs an update due to the increasing use of proxies fighting in high tech military actions.

There is no stalemate. The Russians are grinding the Ukrainian military into powder. THAT IS THE OBJECTIVE.

Ukraine is running out of manpower, ammo, weapons and funding.

An almost five-month counteroffensive resulted in Ukraine losing 100,000 more troops and gaining back nothing.

Give it up. We're tired of wasting tax dollars on this failed proxy war, the biggest US policy failure since Vietnam.

Ukraine made Russia retreat 17km. Russia is no longer a superpower.

It is a war of attrition. The stalemate is because Russia is sitting there grinding down Ukraine in fighters and weaponry. There isn’t much territory changing hands lately.

A stalemate indicates a draw making the headline of this article nonsense.

Most FReepers are common-sense, small-government conservatives. There's a small minority of (paid DHS, IMHO) trolls who are loud and stupid about Ukraine.

The reality Zalushny expressed has been obvious for 3 years to anyone with common sense. So why does America's deep-state, globalist cabal carry one with their proxy-war?

I am of the opinion that it is NOT a land battle. It is an attrition battle. Winning means inflicting 500,000 killed or wounded. There is a long way to go in order to get to that number. So for now, a stalemate.

“So why does America’s deep-state, globalist cabal carry one with their proxy-war?”

I will wager a few guesses. People almost always do what is in their own best interest. With the exception of Mother Theresa and a few others.

1.They are compromised. Some entity has something over them to get them to vote the way they want.

2. They are receiving payments to their PAC or direct payments into numbered foreign bank accounts.

3. They really think this will somehow marginalize Russia.

4. They really believe that the Ukraine are freedom fighters.

5. They are/were involved in something illegal in Ukraine that would cause their lives to be ruined if it was exposed.

I am sure there may be other reasons. I believe the above typically cover most of the primal reasons. Greed and Survival.

“THAT IS THE OBJECTIVE”

Exactly right. The stated goals of the SMO are:
☑️ Demilitarize
☑️ Denazify

“People’s republics of Donbass approached Russia with a request for help. In connection therewith, <…> I made the decision to hold a special military operation. Its goal is to protect the people that are subjected to abuse, genocide from the Kiev regime for eight years, and to this end we will seek to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine and put to justice those that committed numerous bloody crimes against peaceful people, including Russian nationals,” Putin said in the television address. If thats true then why all this concern that if Russia isn’t stopped in Ukraine, then they’ll blitz Poland next, and onward through Western Europe?

The truth is Russia is no threat to Nato outside of nuclear warfare, and the USA has no business involving ourselves in this war, other than the obvious truth that Ukraine is headquarters to dozens of corrupt US politicians money laundering operations, as well as illegal bioweapons labs, and the sex slave trade.
