It is a war of attrition. The stalemate is because Russia is sitting there grinding down Ukraine in fighters and weaponry. There isn’t much territory changing hands lately.
The Russians are not trying to take land.They are working to kill Ukrainian soldiers. Therefore, you don’t see much movement - they let the Ukrainians come to them. The Ukrainians are trying to spin this into another donation opportunity - just X Billions more juicy American taxpayer dollars to break the non-existent ‘stalemate’.
