Comedian Dave Chappelle criticized the United States for backing Israel’s “war crimes” against Palestinians during a live performance in Boston Thursday, prompting some audience members to walk out, according to a report.
The controversial comic made the remarks during a show at the TD Garden on Thursday, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Chappelle condemned Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel that left some 1,400 Israelis dead — but blasted what he claimed were Israel’s war crimes in Gaza, sparking some pushback from the crowd, people in attendance told the outlet.
The brouhaha started when a member of the audience told Chappelle to “shut up” after he said he didn’t think people should lose their jobs for supporting Palestinians, according to the Journal.
Chappelle, in response, criticized the Israeli government’s decision to cut off food, water and electricity to Gaza.
He also accused Israel of killing innocent civilians and committing war crimes, according to the report.

More than 4,300 Palestinians have been killed in the conflict as the Israel Defense Forces have relentlessly pummeled the enclave with more than 6,000 bombs. Those dead include women and children, according to Palestinian authorities.

Chappelle said his conversion to the Islamic faith happened at 17 years old, when he was living in Washington, DC, across the street from a pizza shop with a Muslim employee.
If he became a Muslim at 17, that’s not recent - he’s 50 years old.
And, considering his anti-trans stance (or pro-TERF or whatever) stance, and support for Trump, I do not understand.
I’m mistaken. I didn’t hear much about him being Muslim when he was younger. Maybe he didn’t really get into it until he got older.

They didn’t say they were innocent, just Palestinians. And among them were women and children. How many? Not quantified.

Chuckle chuckle. I am picking my team from here on. If he is anti Israel, then He ain’t on my team. I’m done with him. I draw the line on this. This goes for friends as well.
And family, if I were to find that they they think that what happened on Oct 7 was justified, I’ll meet up with them on special occasions only. Our relationship however is dead.
He’s been making foul comments about Jesus for years. Listen to F is for Family, and you’ll hear a bunch of them.

And so another one gets bumped off the list. He was okay for a while but he crossed the line. In holding himself above other comics for saying things they wouldn’t, he fell for the same hubris that marked them unworthy: He decided to preach personal politics and not even couch it in comedy. He is now truly an official hollywoodenhead.
If his routines on LGBT, trans and gays are the result of his conversion, it’s interesting that those protesting his stuff haven’t figured out islam yet.
What does he say about Ughurs?
When I go to see a comedy show, I’m always hoping the comedian delves into the Middle East conflict. Nothing more funny than that.
Nothing, of course. Fellow Muslims, enslaved, murdered, women raped, but no Jooos! involved, so nothing to see here. Same thing when Putin was bombarded the Chechens. No talk of “laws of war” or worries over civilian casualties then.
Beats me - if he’s Muslim, he certainly does not speak as a Muslim.
