They weren’t laughing.
Comedian Dave Chappelle criticized the United States for backing Israel’s “war crimes” against Palestinians during a live performance in Boston Thursday, prompting some audience members to walk out, according to a report.
The controversial comic made the remarks during a show at the TD Garden on Thursday, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Chappelle condemned Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel that left some 1,400 Israelis dead — but blasted what he claimed were Israel’s war crimes in Gaza, sparking some pushback from the crowd, people in attendance told the outlet.
The brouhaha started when a member of the audience told Chappelle to “shut up” after he said he didn’t think people should lose their jobs for supporting Palestinians, according to the Journal.
Chappelle, in response, criticized the Israeli government’s decision to cut off food, water and electricity to Gaza.
He also accused Israel of killing innocent civilians and committing war crimes, according to the report.

More than 4,300 Palestinians have been killed in the conflict as the Israel Defense Forces have relentlessly pummeled the enclave with more than 6,000 bombs. Those dead include women and children, according to Palestinian authorities.

In Boston I’m surprised he didn’t get a standing ovation.
I usually find Chapelle pretty funny, but on this I disagree with him.
He condemned Hamas for the terrorists killing innocent people in Israel. Then criticized the Israelis for striking back. This means that we shouldn't have done anything after 9/11. I guess that fits his worldview as a recent Muslim convert.
Things go awry when a comedian plays military strategerist on stage.
I call this Free Speech. You say what you believe and consumers determine the validity. I’m against collective punishment of people you have no connective with.
I thought the Hammies declared "women and children" (to include infants) fair game during their flying pigs attack.
Dave Chappelle converted to Islam when he was 17. And sometimes the converts are the most unyielding. I’m not saying that had anything to do with his anti-Israel outbursts.
No, of course not.
The dead body guard women and children are not innocents but participants that failed in their mission
He has the right to say anything he wants and take the consequences. Like loss of income.
“He condemned Hamas for the terrorists killing innocent people in Israel. Then criticized the Israelis for striking back. This means that we shouldn’t have done anything after 9/11. I guess that fits his worldview as a recent Muslim convert.”
Just another leftist hypocrite projecting the big lie that they are anti-war and pacifists. They are anything but that. And if or when someone attacks their family, they’ll be the first ones calling for the death of the ones that attacked them personally.
He got a lot of applause, and many left in fear of the cheering crowd.
Dave has made enough money he can pretty much say whatever he wants with no fear. Right or wrong in his thoughts.
That’s up to Dave like I said. Free speech can have consequences.
Disagree with Dave, but he has the right to say it, and the folks that paid have the right to walk out.
Freedom, baby!
Exactly. And the government should not be dictating to social media companies what is "true" and what is "misleading".
He’s a Muslim now, Jim.
He’s a scumbag.
Wrong politically and just wrong here but, he can be quite funny also.
He’s talking things he should not, he’s not going to stop...oh well.
Free speech.
Even if one didn’t like Israel or Jews in general it’s pretty bad timing to insult them RIGHT after they suffered a massive terror attack.
