Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said Monday on CNN’s “NewsNight” that she had concerns about Israel using “collective punishment” in Gaza.
Ocasio-Cortez said, “I think what is important, in terms of response, is Israel does have a right to self defense. I think what we need to take a look at in this situation is, if collective punishment qualifies as defense. If the blockade on water, food, electricity, if the dropping of white phosphorus, which is an indiscriminate weapon, qualifies. So I do believe that there is a discussion to be had here. I don’t believe that, in either or approach is what is necessary, but we should identify what our goal, is which is the cooling of tensions in the region.”
She continued, “I do believe Hama has to be dealt with. But we’re trying to figure out right now is what this present situation of collective punishment and indiscriminate attack is one approach, but we are seeing the issues and complications of that approach now. Can we target them in terms of intelligence? Is there precision?”

Sandy, Israel not only has a right to defend itself, it has a right to make sure its citizens are never brutally murdered again by terrorists. Hamas is the elected and official government in Gaza. The residents of Gaza support Hamas. They dance in the streets with glee over the decapitation of Jewish babies. The residents of Gaza, through their government pay the families of fallen terrorists. You do not hear Hamas, residents of Gaza, so-called Palestinians anywhere or their supporters condemn the indiscriminate attacks on women and children. Everyone in Gaza is complicit. Even the Biden Administration is complicit. They need to be destroyed, without mercy. Give them no quarter. By the way Sandy, that includes you. You are a stain on America and the world.

There’s a sliding scale. If the bad guys are only a few isolated individuals, we call it a police action. No fire-bombing as happened once in Philadelphia. No incendiaries as happened once in Waco. Even dynamic entry. We’re starting to reconsider dynamic entry because of the tragedies that happen with some frequency.
But, when the bad guys are the rulers, then we call it a war. In this case, there is acceptance of collateral damage. Furthermore, when the rulers do not conduct themselves according to the accepted laws of war, they aren’t protected by the laws of war. They become like pirates, subject to summary judgment.
As it is, surveys indicate that a majority of the people in Gaza support Hamas and violence against Israelis, and want to drive Israel into the sea. There may be innocent among them, as there undoubtedly were innocents among the Germans and the Japanese, but we have a job to do.
AOC belongs to a party which believes in collective punishment for non-Hispanic white males for offenses of the past.
Yet she has no problem imposing collective punishment against the Jews.
Clearly Israel’s response is causing gastric distress for the incompetent barista.
