Facing the prospect of a prolonged war and with a counter-offensive mounting, Israel’s Second Amendment-lacking citizenry was granted new permissions “to allow as many citizens as possible to arm themselves.”
Since Hamas terrorists launched their attack on the people of Israel, killing more than 700 people and taking dozens hostage, the Israel Defense Force’s response has been one of increasing force. In addition to calling up 300,000 reservists while launching strikes against the “evil, dark, medieval extremists” a new statement from Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir captured the intensity of the lingering danger.
“Today I directed the Firearms Licensing Division to go on an emergency operation, in order to allow as many citizens as possible to arm themselves,” Ben-Gvir detailed on X as the nation sought to prevent civilians from being caught defenseless for the duration of the threat. “The plan will take effect within 24 hours.”

Oh dear. If PDJT issued a directive like that, what would Larry David say?
Nothing could be more amazing that a Jewish government removed the inherent, natural ability of self-defense.
Perhaps Americans need to offer Israelis some of their spare 9mm semis and AR-15s?
Kind of like a Go Fund Me thing.
Biden left a cache of rifles in Afghanistan, The citizens of Israel sure could use them.
If you had the US arms policy in Israel, soon there would be a thriving black market for arms that would include Israeli Arabs and Palestinians in the West Bank.
It would be a lot worse than the occasional white trader selling rifles to the Indians.
I am sure Israeli gun stores have millions on hand to sell.
NOT!
It is plain stupid to live where self-defense is illegal.
Would not be surprised if Ham-ass has some of those.
Those in power don’t like giving away the option of brutal oppression of the people.
How long until this gets repealed during another 20 years of “peace,” or whenever they desire to oppress?
This should put an end to all anti second amendment rhetoric...oh who am I kidding.
I admit, I am shocked to hear that the Israeli citizens have been disarmed.
Stunned!
The big difference is that there is no interest in the citizenry to own firearms since there is no hunting and homicidal crime is only 1/3 of that of the US.
That will likely change after these recent events.
The incursion was achieved with 1000 terrorists crossing the Isreal border and they killed nearly 1000 innocents. We have already been invaded by tens of thousands of unknown combatants across our southern border. Are we prepared? Are we ready?
I have been mistaken for years. I thought most Israelis were heavily armed.
Right... because Israeli Arabs and Palestinians looking to kill people obey gun control laws and rules so those laws and rules are effective. Uh huh. /heavy sarcasm
I was just researching this. In Israel you are allowed to possess ONE gun and 50 bullets at a time, and they keep track of how many you have. I think we’ve all been fooled by the pics of young teachers with machine guns strapped on over their peasant skirts and hippie sandals.

Private ownership of firearms in Israel is about 1.4 to 2.0 (depending on the study) per 100 citizens. In contrast, private ownership of firearms in the US is about 120 per 100 citizens. (Yes, we have more guns than citizens — something that makes leftscum heads explode but makes me happy.)
I seem to recall teachers were armed to protect the kids but never really heard all citizens were armed.
Hy I posted that link on another thread yesterday. Did you copy more or do great minds just think alike? Both? LOL (we all could use some humor right now)
