RFK Jr.'s Independent Run Is Why Republicans Lose
RedState ^ | Sept. 29, 2023 | Bonchie

As RedState reported, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is set to launch an independent presidential campaign after first challenging Joe Biden for the Democratic Party nomination.

According to multiple sources, the official announcement will come on October 9th in Pennsylvania.

2024 presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. plans to announce he will run as an independent on October 9 in Pennsylvania, Mediaite has learned.

Kennedy’s campaign machine is now planning “attack ads” against the Democratic National Committee in order to “pave the way” for his announcement in Philadelphia about running as an independent, according to a text reviewed by Mediaite.

This is not good news for Republicans, and there's empirical evidence to back that up. According to the latest polling, RFK Jr. enjoys a very high approval rating among Republicans while he's extremely disliked by Democrats.

If this does happen (and it's a big if!) it could easily backfire on the GOP nominee. Kennedy is significantly more popular among Republican voters than among Democrats. QPac poll found him +30 among GOP, -43 among Dems. Siena had him +36 among Trump voters, -35 among Biden. https://t.co/yc3RoxaoKr pic.twitter.com/Xf3IXf6Qs4

— Jacob Rubashkin (@JacobRubashkin) September 29, 2023 I'm not the only one worried about that dynamic either. Several of Donald Trump's biggest boosters are sounding the alarm as well.

— Jack Poso 🇺🇸 (@JackPosobiec) September 29, 2023 None of this is happening in a vacuum. In fact, the two people I just quoted above were some of RFK Jr.'s biggest promoters, and they are hardly alone on the right. Many conservatives, specifically those skeptical of the COVID-19 vaccines, latched onto RFK Jr. very early in the cycle as some kind of anti-establishment figure. In fact, the only reason he has much of a platform today is because of right-wing media.

"Why Republicans lose".

And who deserves it more?

It’s 1860 all over again.

Pence/Haley
Biden/Harris
RFK/Tulsi
Trump/?

Pop quiz: Name the President who won election with the lowest percentage of the popular vote in history.

Indeed. I wouldn’t trust RedState on anything. All one need do is reflect back on Erick Erickson’s affiliation with it.

It really chaps my butt that the Goofball Erick has gotten Rush’s old time slot on ATL radio. A dyed-in-the-wool Trump hater, IMO.

When the crew sinks the ship the captain is held responsible.

Trump did a Costa Concordia on the nation with his leadership during Covid. The honorable thing would be to admit it, apologize and step aside.

RFK Jr. changed his positions when he knew he had to try and get blue-collar Democrat votes.
That quote from Trump was taken out of context.

I think there are many Democrats that would like an alternative to Biden. In places like Pennsylvania, it could be all Trump needs to overcome the fraud.

Perot didn’t facilitate the “taking.”

Butt-hurt Republicans like that excuse. It absolves them from running an awful candidate that rejected Reagan’s legacy, and ushering in a woman-abusing slob for a President and the darkest First Lady ever. It took Trump to vanquish that lot.

As for your continued misunderstanding of syntax, good luck.

Lincoln only got 39% of the popular vote (he wasn't on the ballot in many of the Southern states, not that he would have received many votes there) but would have won if all the other votes had gone to one opponent, because of where his votes were and the workings of the electoral college.

It would be nice to have a pro-life candidate to vote for in 2024. Trump sounded pro-life in 2016 and in office but now he is attacking DeSantis for signing a law that restricted abortions in Florida (and DeSantis seems to be getting wobbly on the issue too). I assume RFK, Jr., is pro-abortion like all Democrat politicians in recent years.

RFK is going to cause Trump to lose, but not because of vaccines or any other policy issue.

RFK is a populist like Trump - and modern politics is less about D vs. R, and more about authoritarianism vs populism.

Biden will get the leftist 40% who want the big government nanny state. Trump will get the 40% MAGA vote. In a two way race, Trumo will win the 20% independents, because by definition, Independents are independent - they hate authoritarianism even if they like some Leftist policies - they don’t like to be told what to do.

But in a three way race, since RFK is also a populist - now you are giving the independents a choice between two populists. If half the independents go with RFK, then Trump is within the margin of fraud and therefore loses.

How does he impact NJ, OR, CO, NM. I have noticed no one even cares to check because he’s obviously a Rat who isn’t going to be making a play for thr states that would most favor his policy positions. He’s going after Trump because that’s what he’s been instructed to do.
