The Sept. 6 missile strike on Kostiantynivka in eastern Ukraine was one of the deadliest in the country in months, killing at least 15 civilians and injuring more than 30 others. The weapon’s payload of metal fragments struck a market, piercing windows and walls and wounding some victims beyond recognition.
Less than two hours later, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy blamed Russian “terrorists” for the attack, and many media outlets followed suit. Throughout its invasion of Ukraine, Russia has repeatedly and systematically attacked civilians and struck schools, markets and residences as a deliberate tactic to instill fear in the populace. In Kostiantynivka in April, soldiers shelled homes and a preschool, killing six.

“But evidence collected and analyzed by The New York Times, including missile fragments, satellite imagery, witness accounts and social media posts, strongly suggests the catastrophic strike was the result of an errant Ukrainian air defense missile fired by a Buk launch system.”
“Ukrainian authorities initially tried to prevent journalists with the Times from accessing the missile debris and impact area in the strike’s immediate aftermath. But the reporters were eventually able to get to the scene, interview witnesses and collect remnants of the weapon used.”
It’s good the US Congress knows this before they cast their votes on the additional $40 bil.
Can someone run a search for “Kostiantynivka” so we can gauge the level of propaganda on the forum when this happened?
Oh what a surprise. Ukrainians continue to deliberately attack and kill civilians intentionally. The same people that they were attacking and killing before Russia came. Oh and they want these territories back so they can exterminate the ethnic Russian citizenry. Must be hard to aim at actual military targets to win their fine war.
Interesting details. Crater analysis doesn’t lie. Neither does the video of people looking that way and the fragment analysis.
The only odd thing is the NYT going to such efforts and then letting people know it’s Ukrainian. The NYT is a Uke cheerleader. Maybe they knew the story was getting out elsewhere or something...
“They didn’t let this one go to waste.”
The REAL QUESTION is: Why is the NY Times calling the Ukrainians liars on something this important, when they could have just kept their mouths shut?
ANSWER: The Administration now wants to ‘get Ukraine behind us’.
They’ll be here soon to call this report bullsh!t.
It's nice they admitted what we all knew already (online sleuths quickly pointed to several lines of evidence the missile came from Ukrainian territory, not from Russia to the east). But they have to cling to their lies in claiming without evidence that Russia as deliberately attacking civilians. To the contrary, from reports it's the Ukrainians who spent the last 9 years shelling and droning civilians and continue to do so in Donetsk and other regions.
I’m no friend of the Kiev nazi regime, but I doubt it was deliberate. With that many rockets and shells flying, some are -guaranteed- to fall short or go haywire. Especially with old soviet era weaponry.
The main lesson here is to see how fast the Uke propaganda machine spun it to be the exact opposite.
The main question here is why the NYT hustled like this to get the actual story.
Don’t Start no $hit...there will be no $hit!
Now that the light is shining on them, they'll scuttle back under the baseboard, till they can shout about today's Narrative with "What [fill in the blank] doink?".
💯👍
They have been doing it for years, it’s no accident!
>> The Administration now wants to ‘get Ukraine behind us’.
Because 2024.
It’s The NY Times. They have zero credibility. The only way to approach this war is based on American interests and the principle of America First. Everything out there is potential propaganda and unworthy of basing any decision or opinion.
Not errant.
Deliberate.
