Ties Between Joe Biden and Merrick Garland Deteriorate From Distant to Frigid
WSJ ^ | Aruna Viswanatha & Sadie Gurman

Posted on 09/16/2023 5:55:46 PM PDT by NautiNurse

The already frosty relationship between President Biden and his attorney general, Merrick Garland, is now in a deep freeze.

Respect and admiration among White House aides for Garland, a longtime federal appeals-court judge chosen to underscore the independence of the Justice Department, has shifted for some into resignation and distrust.

[Snip]

Some Biden aides have said they see Garland’s handling of the inquiries into the Biden family as driven less by a dispassionate pursuit of justice than by a punctilious desire to give the appearance that sensitive investigations are walled off from political pressure, people familiar with the matter say.

[Snip]

The attorney general’s allies say those appointments aren’t him bending to pressure, but rather insulating the probes that touch on Biden—Garland’s boss and the man who appointed him.

[Snip]

Adding to the fraught relationship between the Justice Department and the White House, special counsel Robert Hur has been negotiating with President Biden’s lawyers for weeks over the contours of an interview with the president...

[Snip]

Allies of both Garland and Biden compare their relationship to the tense one between President Clinton and Janet Reno, his attorney general for eight years. Clinton was frustrated that Reno allowed an investigation into the failed Whitewater land deal to expand to a wide-ranging probe...

[Snip]

When Garland attended a reception in the East Room at the White House last month, President Biden said to him: “Attorney General Garland—I haven’t seen you in a long while. It’s good to see you.”

The crowd laughed, and Biden added: “You think I’m kidding. I’m not.”

Long article. Multiple comparisons between several presidents and their respective Attorneys General.

Glossed over the lengthy delays for Joe Biden to answer questions about the multitude of classified documents found in multiple scattered locations.

Maybe Meritless is unwilling to be tossed under the bus?

Trump said he saw Barr only once during his presidency......coming out of the Senate cafeteria.

We can appreciate that Merrick Garland is not a SCOTUS justice.

This is all total crap from the WSJ to make Garland appear as non political when in fact he is Biden’s whore.

I like the lines about Clinton being frustrated with Reno. What nonsense. She did whatever Billy-Bob told her to do.

Whitewater? As far as I know, no one ever found out details of the Clintons involvement.

Fake news from the WSJ.

Both Garland and Biden are controlled by the same power that be.

So, if the relationship between Biden and Garland sucks, further proof that Biden isn’t running anything. He’s just a tool of powers behind the throne and will soon be thrown under a bus.

I predict one of two things with Hunter’s “prosecution”:

There’s some sort of technicality, mistrial, case gets tossed.

Hinters convicted, his daddy pardons him, and daddy is gone. Whether through resignation or medical reasons from all the stress.

Sadly, if anything happens to Biden and he’s gone, then the impeachment inquiry and all those crimes get gone with him.

This sounds like some Major-League BS propaganda planted by America’s KGB/DOJ

“See what neutral, dispassionate law enforcers we are. Why even FJB isn’t happy with us, but we won’t waiver in our respect for the rule of law!!”

BARF!

No kidding. Biden’s mob lawyer throws a few crumbs out for the most transparent false veneer of impartiality and the regime freaks out. They have to be wondering what the point is it since they own the media. What are they going to say, he’s corrupt.? 😅

The most time Hunter will ever serve is between now and the day after the election is decided next year before he’s pardoned.

I read the entire article at WSJ. I agree with the overwhelming number of WSJ commenters on the article that, first of all, for the article to be place in the news section rather than the opinion section of the paper was a disservice to its readers.

Secondly, the commenters all agreed that the entire article was nothing but a white-washing piece of b.s. that was meant to mislead the people regarding the collaboration between the White House and DOJ on Trump’s indictments and the cover-up of Biden’s crimes. Garland and Biden’s relationship has never been ‘frosty’ and it is certainly not ‘frigid’ now unless Biden is upset that Garland screwed up by letting the judge actually read Hunter’s plea agreement before approving its contents.

Pretty obvious why Barry Soetoro picked Garland right away, he’s a criminal and would have done a fine job for the communists. The GOPe senate is an epic fail in my lifetime with the exception of not voting for this crook. We could have done worse.

Your thoughtful analysis is appreciated. Good observation that the article was in the liberal slanted news section, rather than the more conservative opinion section of the WSJ. There were a lot of comments for the article.

Joe Biden doesn't even have the strength to toss a candy wrapper under a bus.

...I think it is customary for them to choose weapons. My guess is that they would choose a hankie slap match.
