Warning: Beware the Special Counsel's New Indictment Plans for Hunter Biden
Townhall ^ | 9/8/23 | Guy Benson

Late yesterday afternoon, the news broke that Special Counsel David Weiss' office had informed the judge in the Hunter Biden case of its intent to secure a felony indictment against the president's son on firearms-related charges by September 29th at the earliest. The judge had set a Wednesday deadline for prosecutors to declare their intentions moving forward, following the high-profile implosion of a nearly-executed sweetheart plea deal in open court over the summer. That outrageous agreement was reportedly first altered after IRS whistleblowers came forward with their allegations, complicating prosecutors' alleged plan to let Biden off without a single guilty plea, even to a misdemeanor. The new version, hastily updated due to problematic political optics, then went up in smoke after the judge asked a simple question about future immunity provisions, sparking a disagreement between prosecutors and Hunter Biden's defense team.

The DOJ didn't suddenly overnight become law-abiding and non-biased with regards to Hunter Biden.

This is apparently a well thought-out strategy and was put together in coordination with the WH and Joe Biden's legal team.

Yup. Bust him on a gun/drug charge. Completely ignore the ongoing bribery, shell corps, and tax evasion.

Does the judge who nixed the last case have any say in this? I want her looking at this with a fine toothed comb.

The sweetheart deal got pulled out into the sunlight.

So their next step is a tap on the wrist and a wink.

The corruption of the Department of Justice is total. Oddly I do not want to put Hunter in jail for the gun charge. Fine the hell out of him and give him probation. I do want to put him and his father in jail for RICO, bribery, money laundering, tax evasion, etc. Unfortunately lying in public is not a crime. The lies of Joe Biden are many.

They’re going to bring out the Clinton era book on how to “investigate” someone so that everyone involved: investigators, investigated and witnessed will be prohibited from talking to Congress about it. Then the case will be dropped in the end.

If Weiss stops at a new gun charge -- look, a bright shiny object -- plus the tax misdemeanors already listed in the previous compact, that would strike me as yet another face-saving political exercise. Indeed, it could be interpreted as Weiss coming "a little bit harder at Hunter Biden (while still taking care to insulate 'the Big Guy)," while still serving the Biden DOJ's overriding "inclination to protect the Bidens to the greatest extent possible." In short, I recommend tapping the breaks on any premature celebrations over newfound "accountability," carefully scrutinizing the fine print of whatever might emerge in a forthcoming indictment, then watching to see whether or not the Special Counsel probe then effectively ends.

He got caught going easy, so instead of a punishment of 10 out of 10, it will be a 2 out of 10. But this is to protect an 8 out of 10 that would include the Big Guy.

As I understand it, they moved it out of her court. They shopped for a sympathetic judge. This is a coverup masquerading as an indictment.

Any real prosecution would be demanding information from Hunter about Joe Biden otherwise this is all a farce.

Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland elevated Weiss (who was Delaware-based US Attorney at least nominally pursuing the Hunter case) to “Special Counsel” status with new powers, a dubious and cynical move for various reasons:

“Weiss should be regarded as a political actor whose overarching agenda in this entire matter seems to be accountability avoidance for anyone named Biden.

Plus, it shows why elevating Biden suckup Weiss to special counsel status is such a farce.

Based on what we’ve seen thus far, this is likely to come next...Having gotten ‘caught’ and embarrassed for a second time, Weiss will exercise his new authority to go a little bit harder on Hunter (while taking care to insulate ‘the Big Guy’), without fully throwing the book at sonny boy.

Just as we saw after the IRS whistle-blowers stepped forward, Weiss now needs to save some face, but his (suck-up) inclination to protect the Bidens to the greatest extent possible, will likely remain intact.

What we’ve seen so far is not generally the disposition of a law-abiding prosecutor.
Delaware’s Weiss has repeatedly
<><>hampered and stymied his own investigation —
<><>closed off key lines of inquiry,
<><>barred pursuit of certain witnesses and questions,
<><>disregarded serious evidence,
<><>allowed statues of limitation to expire on serious offenses,
<><> and, of course, green-lighting the outrageous Hunter deal (ordered by Dad).

A slave to “The Delaware Way,” Weiss is unfit to be the special counsel in this case. “

Here is a thought, charge Hunter with everything they can. Ramp up a big show trial. Then just before start date, Papa Joe issues a pardon for his beloved, confused son as any father would do. Because of this, Joe volunteers to step down. Kamala then after being sworn in, begins the paperwork to pardon old Joe. Republicans get nothing, Kamal gets credit for healing the country, and Dems get a viable reason to switch horses in mid stream and run Big Mike.

Gun charges and spitting on the sidewalk charges for Hunter? The corrupt white liberal ‘elites’ from the DOJ to Homeland to the FBI will protect the whore monger from his real crimes - the ones against the American people and the Constitution. Yes, taking bribes is the act of traitors... /

True observations. AM Radio K(yesterday and today) says this was a forced reaction to her questions and deadline.
But.
“All” Weiss has to do is wait until 1 Oct. Then with a weak indictment or a “mistake” in prosecutors or paperwork, the case is dismissed. Or declared “not guilty” by a sympathetic OJ Simpson juryc.

They are just pushing things out another month. They’ve had plenty of information and time to ready indictments already, but now they want more time. I’m sure that even the judge will see through this obvious delaying tactic, but won’t care or do anything about it. This is just another example of the Banana Republic in operation.

How about making deals with enemy nations which basically amounts to high treason?
