They should spend that money on infrastructure.

Think I’ll order some Tandoori Chicken to commemorate this event.

Yes. Congratulations India!
India has proven it is a first world nation and no longer needs to receive any special treatment or any aid from the U.S. We can be friends and allies on an equal basis.

It’s their money; they can spend it any way they like.
A certain racist, socialist democrat by the name of Ralph Abernathy opposed our space program back in the late 1960s, on the ground that the money should be given to unemployed, non-taxpaying urban black people.

India will be a crucial ally against China.
I’ll take India over China any day of the week, and twice on Sunday.

They're planning their first manned moon landing, but are still working out how to place 50 spacesuit oxygen umbilicals and handholds on the outside of the Lunar Lander...

We can be friends and allies on an equal basis. Indeed. And they're going to need all their engineers back in India, rather than here.

Sure, they can spend it how they like.
Personally, I might have spent it on sewage systems, or maybe building modern hospitals. But they can fly to the moon if they think that’s going to be more productive.
To: ConservativeInPA
I read on this particular mission NASA and the ESA provided key technical support.

What’s funny is how many of them are smiling. If I have to ride on a packed train, I’m grumpy for half the day at least, and I’m riding on the INSIDE of the train at least.
To: NorthMountain
I didn’t order them.
As for Abernathy, who cares?

As for Abernathy, who cares? Democrats in Congress agreed with him (sort of), and began NASA's demise. Folks who complain about NASA being "woke", and too focused on "diversity" should be aware that the problems began in the early 1970s and ol' Ralphie started it.

The $75 million price tag is a testament of how destructive inflation is for us and how powerful the the US dollar is within the global economy.
