ONE of Putin's prized war planes has been damaged after a kamikaze drone strike deep inside Russian territory.

The attack, at the military airport in the Novgorod region more than 700 miles from Ukraine, witnessed a "helicopter style" drone.

The ministry said nobody was hurt and the fire was quickly extinguished.

The aircrafts which survived the attack are reportedly being being moved to an airfield in the Murmansk region.

The Russian defence ministry admitted a strike: “The Kyiv regime carried out a terrorist attack using a copter-type UAV on a military airfield in Novgorod region."

"As a result of the terrorist attack on the territory of the airfield, a fire broke out in the aircraft parking lot, which was promptly eliminated by fire brigades.

"One plane was damaged, but there were no casualties as a result of the terrorist attack."

The defence ministry also said the attack was conducted by unmanned aerial vehicles, with a helicopter style flying pattern.

A Ukrainian Telegram channel has said that two Tu-22M3 supersonic bombers were damaged during the strike.

Do you think Russia can withstand Ukraine's drone swarm of one drone attack per week?

Do you think China isn’t watching as Ruzzia gets demilitarized?

A drone costing a couple thousand dollars disables a multi-million-dollar bomber. Yeah, they can keep it up until the Muskovites figure out a defense. Not easy, since the drones can be 100% internally guided. No control signals to jam.

Dozens of unfueled Kh-22/X-22 missiles were destroyed at the airbase today. The missiles were the primary targets, the bombers were secondary.

The bombers were a bonus. Ukraine was targeting the unfueled Kh-22/X-22 missiles that were openly stored at the airbase. The smoke is from the missiles that were destroyed.

Putin is stupid for openly storing the unfueled Kh-22/X-22 missiles for all to see.

What's with calling this a "terrorist" attack? It's an attack by the military of a country your at war "special military operation" against on one of your military bases, Russia. It's not like they are bombing a soccer stadium.

The drone attacks have already forced a couple of relocations of RuAF aircaft and operations to bases further away. This one will push them away some more. That matters vs the effectiveness of cruise missile attacks, as it adds detection range and warning time for cruise missile sorties.

Putin PERSONALLY oversaw the storage of these particular missiles.

People lost IQ points reading your post.

Putin oversees the government structure that has repeatedly caused a litany of unforced errors.

He has chosen his senior officers, and these have chosen theirs, down the hierarchy.

Putin has been in power so long that the cascade of appointments by now have a sole source. The Russian military in every part is, by now, an institution built according to his will.

“Putin PERSONALLY oversaw the storage of these particular missiles.”

Yesterday, or maybe before, one of our usual Operatives said something like: “Well if Putin hadn’t invaded Ukraine, then there would be no war”

To which I basically replied: “If Putin didn’t invade Ukraine, whoever was President of Russia (such as Medvedev) would have LEVELED all of it in a week.”

They are probably lying now, minimizing the effect of this attack. Maybe not, we shall see. It may be be confirmed by the next flypast of a commercial imaging satellite.

But at minimum they confirmed an attack, and an admission against interest lends virtue to liars.
