Majority of Americans say they ‘definitely’ won’t vote for Trump in 2024: poll
The New York Post ^ | 08/17/2023 | Caitlin Doornbass

More than half of Americans say there’s no chance of them voting for former President Donald Trump to return to the White House in 2024, according to a national poll released Wednesday.

With Trump, 77, the clear front-runner in the Republican primary, 53% of Americans told the AP-NORC Center survey they would “definitely not” support him next November – with another 11% saying they would “probably not” pull the lever for the 45th president.

That leaves just 36% who say that they would “probably” or “definitely” support Trump in his third consecutive bid for the presidency.

But Trump’s high disapproval rating among the general public has yet to affect most Republicans, with 74% saying they would definitely or probably support the former president if he were the GOP nominee — and 63% saying they wanted Trump to keep running in 2024. *** On the other side of the aisle, three-quarters of respondents — including 55% of Democrats — said they did not want President Biden to seek re-election. However, only 43% of Americans said they definitely would not support him in a general election, while 11% said they would “probably not.”

*** Meanwhile, a Quinnipiac University survey of a hypothetical Biden-Trump 2024 matchup showed the incumbent leading the former president by one percentage point in the popular vote, 47% to 46%.

The same poll also found that 54% of Americans think Trump should be prosecuted for his alleged attempts to remain in power following his defeat by Biden in 2020, while 68% said they believed anyone convicted of a felony should not be eligible to serve as president. ***

Remember, polls are only valid if they support your candidate.

Otherwise, they are biased, fraudulent, deceptive, and part of the deep state’s assault on America. Just like the fluoridation of our water supplies, 5G death rays, and HAARP mind control.

Internals? I think you could take a poll and find that a majority of Americans aren’t going to vote, period.

I don’t care what Americans have to say. Tell me about likely voters.

This is not unexpected, but it is still bad news. So?

I’m still all in with Trump and not leaving him. He never abandoned ms.

There have been other polls showing Trump ahead. Why the difference?

Even if true can anyone point out the fallacy of this poll?

We don’t elect a President by popular vote. If we did the only two states that count would be California and New York.

It is not the number of votes a candidate gets, it is the number in each state which the translates into electors.

“the AP-NORC Center survey” which is what (Assoc Press or Ass Press for short) and NORC which is what? And where was the “survey” conducted and PUBLISHED? Not in the NY Post for certain, and zero data listings— who asked, how asked and what questions.

This is a deliberate “push” poll that is... full of crap.

If the poll was taken largely in New York, Illinois and California, well, yeah, a majority of voters in THOSE localities would not support Trump in 2024, But then again, they did not in 2016 or 2020, either.

Depends on how well the Republicans can conduct ballot harvesting and door-to-door pre-election canvassing in regards to mailed out ballots.

Use the same rules as the opposition.

Here's the one from yesterday

Remember, polls are only valid if they support your candidate.

Or, in your case, they trash the candidate you do not support.

I wonder what the response would have been if the question asked was "Will you vote for Joe Biden in 2024?"

Perhaps AP has already conducted that poll and does not want to publish the results.

This is the fifth or six article based on the same AP poll.

What is interesting is that this poll shows the favorability of Trump at ~36%. The folks around here are outraged; calling the poll fake.

Today, Biden’s favorability rating came out at 36% on the handling of the economy. Folks around here point to it and say that Biden is failing.

I find it curious that 2/3 of the electorate think our “most popular” leaders suck. And not only suck, but they suck worse than our worst Presidents.

Polls are snapshots. Polls are easily manipulated to show what the sponsor wants to show. But, numbers THIS BAD (for both sides) are a peek at what the average folks think about our elderly overlords.

The backlash against the Boomers is coming. It its only going to take a taste of someone younger and more articulate to swing the pendulum. Both republicans and democrats are going to be surprised when it happens.

There are about 15 months until the next election date:
Tuesday, November 5, 2024

Lots of water and other things to go under the bridge
before anyone cast a vote.

Remember, polls are only valid if they support your candidate.

Is that why you haven't posted any polls that favor Trump, then?
