Dershowitz: We’re Up to Four Bananas to the Banana Republic After Trump’s Georgia Indictment
Breitbart ^ | 08/16/2023 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 08/16/2023 9:02:48 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

During an appearance on Fox News, Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz suggested the country was getting much closer to “banana republic” status following former President Donald Trump’s indictment in Fulton County, GA.

Dershowitz said the country had moved from two bananas to “three, maybe four” after the Georgia indictment.

“[T]he idea is we are all part of the United States, and we have one rule for Democrats, one rule for Republicans, one rule for Martha’s Vineyard, one rule for Nantucket, one rule for Georgia,” he said. “And you cannot start making crimes out of things that the Democrats did. Tilden-Hayes, John Kennedy election, 2000 election, 2016 election, Jamie Raskin gets up and does some of the same things — these are political actions that the Constitution prefers us to take rather than going out on the streets and rioting.”

Alan is an example of what is needed right now.

A “Solidarity” like movement that spans all political persuasions, but all focused on the common enemy, and there are a lot of real liberals (not the Communists who hijacked the term), who are just as appalled as we are.

And you cannot start making crimes out of things that the Democrats did.

Oh Really? Seems to me the Donkey Party has been doing that for years as they charged Trump with Russian Collusion. They very thing they themselves were guilty of.

Dershowitz is a traditional liberal. But for being as scholar-ed as he is, he is absolutely naive regarding his fake liberal socialist brethren.

Remains to be proven IMHO but of course I have called for a real and meaningful investigation into Epstein associates.

The US Constitution has a standard even for heinous crimes.

That is “guilty until proven innocent”.

The “Law and Order” mentality of the last 50 years has led politicians and prosecutors to cook the books to get convictions in the name of getting votes at election time.

We need multiple red states to indict Biden. If the GOP was an actual independent party they would do so.

During an appearance on Fox News, Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz suggested the country was getting much closer to “banana republic” status following former President Donald Trump’s politically-heavy indictment in Fulton County, GA.

“....... you cannot start making crimes out of (political) things.....done in the past.”

“You can’t make those things crimes.”

“You can’t expand the RICO statute to now include political objections. “

Dershowitz added. “(in a democracy) We are supposed to go to Congress.

Ga’s indictments against President Trump criminalizes everyday actions such as
<><>questioning election results,
<><>asking for phone numbers,
<><>encouraging voters to watch TV.

The Fanifool proves she can read at third grade level with a zero IQ,
and considers these “indictment-worthy acts of political conspiracy.”

If claiming an election is stolen is truly a crime, as Fanimay insists, then why arent
Al Gore, Hillary Clinton, and loser gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams behind bars?

Prof Dershowitz is a fan of the Constitution. As filthy and depraved as I think The Big Guy is I can accept that he probably didn't rape that girl in Iowa last night and Prof Dershowitz,as much as he might disagree with...or even dislike...DJT can accept that this legal stuff against him is so much horsebleep.

You have to give him credit for his integrity...it's cost him rather dearly...at least in terms of being invited to the most chic cocktail parties.

The thing with Dershowitz, for all his complaining, he wanted Hillary!

Imagine how much worse things would be if that Demon had been elected?

Is it just piss-poor judgement, or a mental defect to have held (still holds) that position?

In the current instance, I guess the old adage applies here, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Most see Trump as the man on the white horse to be voted in and save us as he did in 2016. That didn’t work out so well. I do not think we will be given the chance to vote for him at all. He will be, one way or another, kept from the ballot. Like Sanders was, like RFK Jr. will be, He will be shut out—maybe rig the first few primaries—He gets only 10% of the Votes—even if he has Millions promising to vote for him. Shut him out of the Convention. “No Felons can run!” will be the chants. The Social Media and MSM will continue to tar and feather him until they turn him into David Duke. The Real question is—WHAT WILL YOU DO THEN?
What can we do? Just OBEY and go along with the Sham “Two Party System?” The ball is in our court, citizens (if we have the right to use that term—Subjects would be better).

Posting I made a few minutes ago on another thread.

A president or former president has never been charged with a crime before.

No precedent for indicting a former president exists, yet. But, wait for SCOTUS to change all that when they docket the appeals from President Trump’s show trials.
