US President Joe Biden has reportedly made the decision to provide cluster bombs to Ukraine's armed forces to enable troops to target well-entrenched Russian forces on the front lines.
The US administration is expected to formally announce this action on Friday (July 7) as part of a new military aid package valued at $800million.

About time. Seriously if you’re going to support a war support it by giving everything needed to win.
If not, get them to surrender. Prolonging the war by doing piece meal weapons is the most unethical way to go about this.
Corrected the headline. The only 3 powers that are prepared to engage in major combat operations are the US, Russia and China. Which is why all 3 have not banned mines or cluster munitions.
The others are simply not serious.

Can we just not have peace? Sit down and negotiate, give Russia a small slice of Ukraine for the Ukr Russ people to live in and/or sign a damn treaty to keep Ukraine neutral.
Or are we really going to fight to the last Ukrainian man (as well as hundreds of thousands of good Russ young men)?

I do not support sending arms to Ukraine.
That said, if we use them, we should be willing to send them to countries that we want to help and are willing to use them.
If a country signed the ban, don’t send them. If they withdraw from the treaty or pact, consider sending them.
This whole thing is stupid. We don’t ban them. We should give them to any country we want to help who asks for them and is not part of the treaty.
And if they are part of the treaty, it is a good “teaching moment” when the world gets to see woke posturing versus the need for survival.
They aren’t nuclear, biological, or chemical weapons. They are just nasty weapons you don’t want to be on the receiving end of.
So bombs are delivered by air.

Russia has been using cluster bombs on civilians since early in the invasion and Ukraine has even used some cluster bombs.

this is nuts. congress has a duty to stop this. military should defy the president. He has no such power as CIC.
