A mother claims her son was banned from wearing shorts to school - despite there being a heatwave - and was told he could opt for a skirt instead.
Toni Hurst from Stockport says she was baffled when Hazel Grove High School told her that Tom Foster, 13, would be put in isolation if he didn't follow the rules.
She explained that a member of staff initially told her that 'boys are free to wear skirts instead of long trousers' over the phone.

I went to college in the 1970s. Toga parties were very common.
They have been making those for women for many years already.
Going full Tarzan at school would require you to play the theme song, “Jungle Love,” by Morris Day & The Time.

Reminds of an old joke - A Scot was asked what is worn under a kilt. His answer, “Nothing is worn everything works perfectly”.
Men in kilts are cool, so long as they have muscular legs. I’ve marched behind several groups of bagpipers in my day when I won a regional beauty pageant and they always looked impressive.

It seems to me if girls can show their legs (as long as the skirt is the approved length) then boys should be allowed to show their legs in shorts of appropriate length and tailoring.
