Poll: Post Indictment, Trump Widens Lead Again – Now Has over 60 Percent Support
Breitbart ^ | June 11, 2023 | Paul Bois

Posted on 06/11/2023 6:55:34 PM PDT by backpacker_c

CBS News poll showed the former president had 61 percent support in the Republican primary, leading his opponent, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis by a full 38 points – 61 percent to 23 percent. Republican Sen. Tim Scott (SC) stands in third place with just 4 percent of support, just one point ahead of former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley.

Regarding the indictment, a plurality of those polled expressed concern that the former president had been targeted for political reasons, not for legal reasons.

Most explicitly ruled out the charges announced in the indictment changing their views about Mr. Trump. Rather than being disqualifying in their eyes, even if he’s ultimately convicted of a crime in the matter, they overwhelmingly feel he should still be able to serve as president again.

Most patriots still support Trump, regardless of lawfare and GOP hacks support that other guy.

Fixed it..

It’s not really a strange way of going about it. It’s a win-win strategy for the Dimocrats.

If they succeed in getting him convicted they get a big win and they know his only-Trump disciples will either write him in or not vote in the general and lose the White House once more. Plus he doesn’t get a pardon and he rots behind bars. This is their preferred scenario.

The second scenario is if they don’t get him convicted, it will disrupt the campaigns; he gets sympathy support at the expense of other viable candidates and it boasts him in the primary to win the nomination. He energizes the Dim base as he continues to alienate independents and women, and short of a nuclear war or some other cataclysmic event under Biden he loses the general. It’s a win for the Dims.

Yeah, I thought about that after I hit post.

There are rats though, that are robots and vote generationally rat, not paying any attention to goings on, just swallow the Pablum on the tube nightly before dinner or their favorite propaganda sitcom.

They are not purposefully evil, just ignorant.

They are one mugging before seeing the light, and if they do get the scales lifted, some actually become fervent supporters of conservatism, albeit slow initially.

Likely they don't even vote personally, but they do hand in their ballots to the harvester, who then dutifully checks for proper vote, or replaces the ballot in the envelope.

True libs? screw em, may they rot in hell.

President Donald Trump Takes Even More Commanding Lead Following DOJ Political Indictment and DeSantis Launch

June 11, 2023 | Sundance | 620 Comments

Let us speak to each other without pretense, guise or dishonesty.  Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is in the 2024 race specifically because he was told by the right wing of the UniParty apparatchik that Donald Trump would be removed from contention.   The people in control of the Republican corporation – namely donors, multinational corporations, Wall St firms and Sea Island billionaires – convinced the Florida governor he would not have to run against Donald Trump.

All of the plans, strategies, schemes and operational roadmaps that followed are a direct outcome of this core tenet; Donald Trump must be removed because he cannot be defeated.  Thus, we are seeing every element of the professional Republican apparatus focused on supporting that intention. Every beneficiary who operates within the financial system of Republican politics, including the financially dependent punditry, must align with that core objective.  This is what we are seeing.

However, that said, those institutions, power brokers, conscripted influence agents, donors and media entities, are not able to fracture the Donald Trump support.  This reality actually speaks remarkably well to the commonsense, pragmatism and general disposition of voters.  Quite simply, people can see through the schemes, and there is a great awakening all around.  [CBS Poll Link]

I have oft repeated that I see a 4:1 pattern, a ratio, within data that has been present ever since 2015 when Donald Trump presented himself as the touchstone of Republican and UniParty politics.

In essence, after years of Republican pretenses, Donald Trump called their bluff and said to the republican politicians, “If you really believe what you have been telling the voters, then prove it.” Subsequently, Trump put the platform that voters want in front of the Republican politicians and pundits.  The rest is history.  Trump exposed the lies within the Republican false advocacy and manipulation, and he put the UniParty in the spotlight.  One of many examples was the GOP refusing to overturn ObamaCare.

With the ruse exposed, and with decades of lies from professional Republicans now clear to the Republican voting base, that is why the liars cannot fracture the Trump movement. Yes, boil all of the lies, pretenses, fabrications and cons down, and this is what remains.  The Republican apparatus is never going to be trusted. Trump has proven his worth, and Donald Trump holds command because his core America First platform is honest and best.

(CBS NEWS) Republican primary voters say they’re far more concerned that Donald Trump’s indictment is politically motivated than his alleged conduct being a national security risk – and there’s no evidence it’s hurt his status as the clear front-runner for the 2024 nomination, at least not yet. He remains well ahead of rivals in both consideration and vote choice.

[…] even if he’s ultimately convicted of a crime in the matter, they overwhelmingly feel he should still be able to serve as president again.

Interviewing for this survey was conducted both before and after the indictment was announced and made public, and there’s no evidence that it has hurt Trump’s standing in the primary contest. Respondents were recontacted after Friday’s DOJ announcement and asked additional follow-up questions on the matter.

At this stage of the race, it’s always important to consider what the electorate wants even more than any horse race. And on that front, despite the rhetoric from the campaign, GOP voters prioritize economics over so-called culture war issues.

They put a lot more importance on a candidate having a plan to lower inflation and lower taxes than they do on topics being discussed on the trail like, for instance, limiting the rights of transgender people and a national abortion ban. (read more)

Sure. It's a Democrat administration and DA in NYC filing the phony charges against him. They wouldn't be doing that if they thought they could beat him fairly.

You’re a desantis supporter/likely nevertrumper, so your spin doesn’t matter, anything goes for you, as long as Trump doesn’t get elected president again.

Sorry loser. I would be happy if Trump got elected, but he won’t and it’s time to find someone that can and will boldly lead when he does.

Many of FR are just pissed that I push back on their cultist hero worship and point out that Trump got played and blew up his presidency in 2020. Trump was great for 3 years, but face the hard fact that Trump ultimately became the best thing that ever happened to the Dimocrats.

Note that the 31 counts concerning “national defense” documents, (the only charges concerning classified documents), does not identify where the documents were located when found.

(The Presidential Records Act is never mentioned in the indictment)

Also notice that none of the more than 100 classified documents found during the FBI search, other than the 31, are counts in the indictment.

As to the document that Nuata found on the floor which had spilled out of a fallen box is accompanied by a location where this occurred. Was it in the locked storage room?

And for the photos in the indictment of the “bathroom” and “ball room” it is not alleged any of them were found to have contained classified documents. The photos are obviously there in order to “form” public opinion. They are not evidence of any crime since they are linked to any f the counts in the indictment.

Finally, there is NO count that alleges the “document/map” supposedly referenced in the tape recording are part of the documents referenced in the indictment. Unless it is charged it was placed in the indictment, again, to create a public inference that Trump had shown classified documents to unauthorized persons.

I agree. I still remember early in Trump’s first term there were Republicans bitching like crazy...because Trump was trying to keep his word to the voters - he pretty much promised what every prior Republican had promised, but never meant to carry out.

Trump meant to keep his word, and tried to do that - and the Republicans in DC were LIVID.
