CBS News poll showed the former president had 61 percent support in the Republican primary, leading his opponent, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis by a full 38 points – 61 percent to 23 percent. Republican Sen. Tim Scott (SC) stands in third place with just 4 percent of support, just one point ahead of former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley.
Regarding the indictment, a plurality of those polled expressed concern that the former president had been targeted for political reasons, not for legal reasons.
Most explicitly ruled out the charges announced in the indictment changing their views about Mr. Trump. Rather than being disqualifying in their eyes, even if he’s ultimately convicted of a crime in the matter, they overwhelmingly feel he should still be able to serve as president again.

It’s pretty much known universally, at least in political circles, that the purpose of DeSantis is to pick up the crumbs of what’s left of Trump, making sure a Deep State Operative becomes the nominee (hence DeSantis being immediately brought back in line to support WW3, when he was unexpectedly asked what he thought about Ukraine - and accidentally stated his real thoughts).
So, you are correct, much as the Leftists (Ukraine War supporters) gave McCain a free ride during the 2008 Primaries, they are doing the same with DeSantis, knowing FULL WELL that he’ll never get MAGA support, so that the Dem on the ticket gets a cake-walk into the White House (again, as happened in 2008 with McCain).
If Trump were to quit the race, the Biden Regime would move on to DeSantis and charge him with human trafficking and human rights violations (for providing the crimmigrants with free vacations to blue “sanctuary” states).
Even major rat tv news hosts realize this and are reporting it as such.
The only ones who do not realize it, and are banking on it to get Trump, are the di hard rats that could be hanged for treason, and of course the never Trumper republicans, including those of them who post here.
The posts of the latter are quite entertaining.
It’s prefectly clear to most people that this is purely a political persecution of a political rival. I can even see many Democrats turn away from their party in this election in disgust.

His approval rating is 40-42% for well over a year now and not trending up...Trump as 46% of electorate locked not matter any fake polls; from Biden’s approval rating only Trump will get that 2% and would be a lock to win electoral college.
Stop accepting the MSM narrative it is false...Desantis is a weak and can’t even compete in primary..that is the true reality and not what you think.
