Texas Army base Fort Hood has officially changed its name to Fort Cavazos as part of the US Army's ongoing effort to rename a handful of bases that currently carry the names of Confederate officers.

They will always be Ft Hood and Ft Bragg to me. I served on both.

Renaming military installations every 50 years or so it actually a good idea to allow for newer heroes to be honored The new guy was quite the hero in Korea and Vietnam according to his record.
