The REAL fungus threat isn't a zombie apocalypse but 'global starvation': scientists say fungal infections are devastating crops on a hotter planet — and we’re firing blanks back at them

The smash television zombie show The Last of Us was too close for comfort for food scientist Sarah Gurr.

While the apocalyptic HBO drama focussed on fungal infections turning mankind into crazed zombies, the more pressing threat is how they ravage what we eat, she says.

The University of Exeter expert warns of a 'devastating' impact on wheat, rice, corn, soy beans, potatoes and other crops that keep the planet's 8 billion people alive.

Dangerous fungi are spreading north as the planet heats up, and the fungicides farmers use against them are getting less effective as they adapt to resist man's chemicals, she says.

'The imminent threat here is not about zombies, but about global starvation,' said Gurr, in a reference to the hit series

They blame the fungi on climate change and an increase in temperatures, of course, much like they do everything else in this world.

Total horse manure.

The cities might be getting hotter because they are packed cheek to jowl with third world mud people. But the rest of the world is unchanged. Completely unchanged.

I suggest using an AR-15 against the fungus.

I love fungus. Its a major food group found in Cheese, mushrooms that foem huge underground nets to connectto each other. Therfore fungii often are called the nervous system of Gaia, as the fungii actually surround the entire planet in a fungal net in the upper soils of the planet.

So to the climate globul Schwearming crowd, I say you are like a snake eating its tail!

Gaia already has fungii all over you. You cannot avoid it, you cannot avoid the coming fungal invasion , becausde it has been going on for millions of years.

You Global Schwarmers ned to settpe in to a home grown mushroom chair and feel the love!

Buahahahahahahahahahaha!

( Fungal Grown furniture)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xsmTxE5QkQ

And soon we will be growing our own electric cars and space ships out of mushrooms! So why sweat the fungal invasion...WELCOME IT. Its already between your toes!

Buahahahahahahahahaahah!

Great suggestion! I’ve been told that an AR-15 can blow out lungs and separate the head from the body with just one shot. Surely, it will work to destroy the fungus.

In the evil idiot western world, farmers are having their land taken away and not allowed to grow food.

Starvation will be self induced.

Agriculture is an inherently risky business with large variability in output from year to year.

Normally the large variability in local production can be averaged out over larger and larger trading areas where output is pooled. This leads to the assumption that it is OK to expand population to approximately that which can be supported by average global food production.

However, this ignores the fact that there have been large variations in output regionally and globally in the past. For example, the potato blight affected Ireland during the 1840s, but the cool years also affected northern Europe as well. Potato crops failed there as well, and wheat crops were reduced leading to widespread famine.

Longer ago, there have been multi-year crop failures due to cooling caused by volcanic eruptions.

So it is natural to expect variations in crop production in the future which will trim back perhaps a fourth of global population through starvation and associated epidemics in the weakened population.

And the NERB (www.nerb.org) thinks it knows how to fine tune control of the problems.

Given that the idiots in charge are pushing for the Famine Horse of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse...

....it makes me think that the Antichrist may already be working behind the scenes

It would certainly explain their stupidity and anti-Christian agendas

Still, many Malthusian-type projections about mass starvation have proven baseless.

The Man Who Fed the World: Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Norman Borlaug and His Battle to End World Hunger

Another pioneer of rust-resistant and semi-dwarf wheat, Norman Borlaug, was born March 25, 1914 on a farm in Iowa. Borlaug received his schooling at the University of Minnesota, and he spent most of his life breeding rust-resistant and semi-dwarf wheat varieties.

The actual measured Global Average Temperature for March 2023 was 0.20 deg C above the baseline 2000 Global Average Temperature. For April 2023, the measured Global Average Temperature was 0.18 deg C above that same year 2000 baseline.

Less than 1/5 of ONE DEGREE in twenty-three years!

And, that trend continued back until satellite records began in 1979. Just slightly above 1/2 of one degree increase in 45 years of continuous measurements.

No. No change in global conditions ANYWHERE can be blamed on actual global average temperature changes.

Now, can “somebody” assume that - by the year 2100 (about 75 years from now) can Global average temperatures be projected or extrapolated to “anything they can imagine? Certainly - They are playing on fear to gain research money and get papers published and get honors and glory and more grant money from Biden's government-academic-industrial complex.

And there is a theory that the warming of the oceans is due to seismic activity and undersea volcanic activity… CO2 is plant food, without it we all die. The end.

Every crop species will have some varients doing better than others at fending off fungal infections, even in “warmer” conditions. Researchers will realize this, identify the stronger varients and help make them the varients planted more often.

ADAPTATION is what humans do best. It’s how humans have come to occupy some portion of nearly every climate niche on the planet, from the near polar regions to the hottest areas near the equator. We have expanded that ability to finding ways to help our food stocks adapt as well (the original “green” revolution). Instead of screaming that the sky is falling humans will do best remembering that THEY CAM ADAPT when they put their best minds to it.

The problem with agriculture isn’t fungus. It socialism war, and environmental extremism.

The Arbor Day Foundation recently published a paper saying that a lush tree canopy can make a city 10 degrees cooler. So, that means cutting down trees and building asphalt parking lots can make a city 10 degrees warmer. So, using temperature changes in cities to calculate warming is not even valid.

You know fraudulent claims are coming to an end when they raise the volume to a fever pitch to try and drown out any dissenting opinions.

Their problem is time doesn’t stop. Their claims become absurd, exposed as false. We have articles written 20, 30, years ago that claim we should all be dead by now. Cities will be under water, mountains will have no snow, etc. etc.

What is astonishing is that anyone is still listening, that’s the power of repetition through media.

I really hate the term ‘climate science’....as none of the resulting models, which is all they have, can be effectively tested.
