Ex-president Donald Trump spent an hour on Friday talking to his former adviser Steve Bannon during which he bashed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and claimed that Republican donors are abandoning the not-yet-declared 2024 presidential candidate and flocking to the Trump campaign.
Trump has been doing long interviews with right-wing talk hosts to promote his new book. Last week Fox’s Mark Levin spent an hour with Trump on the subject, and on Friday it was Trump’s former adviser Bannon, who hosts a daily show on the Real America’s Voice network.
Trump lit into DeSantis, as he does routinely to the governor who is his top rival in the party, and claimed “off the record” that GOP donors are abandoning DeSantis and calling him up.
“DeSanctis is failing badly. Ron DeSanctimonious,” said Trump, referring to polls that continue to show Trump far, far ahead of the entire rest of the GOP field.
He repeated his now familiar routine about having rescued DeSantis from an inglorious end to his career, and then brought up the subject of money.
It was an interesting choice by Trump considering that the news broke this week that DeSantis, who is not even an official candidate, has crushed Trump’s fundraising as well as that of the rest of the presumed and declared candidates. But one big donor did say, to an extreme amount of media attention, that he is putting his DeSantis support on “pause” last week, which Trump appeared to latch onto.

Today, Governor Ron DeSantis signed Senate Bill (SB) 524, Election Administration, to ensure that Florida continues to have secure and accurate elections. This legislation will strengthen election security measures by requiring voter rolls to be annually reviewed and updated, strengthening ID requirements, establishing the Office of Election Crimes and Security to investigate election law violations, and increasing penalties for violations of election laws.

DeSantis probably got a very large donation from a big donor which skewed the numbers. It has been reported a number of times that Trump was outraising DeSantis. Additionally, as mentioned it was reported that done are pulling their money and support. It probably changes by the hour at this stage in the game.

Fact and reality - Donald Trump has far more star power and even recognition than Ron DeSantis. DeSantis is growing, of course, but then, he has a future stretching 20-30 years into the future, and to try to rush him to the top slot right now is to court disaster.
There is strong likelihood that Joe Biden won’t even be the nominee in 2024, judging from the rapid rise of RFK Junior.
Sure, young Kennedy has a raspy voice, and some strong opinions, but he also has some of the Kennedy magic, which has still not entirely evaporated after more than sixty years. So any Republican campaign might just start keying to the growing probability that neither Joe Stolen nor “Que mala” Harris is going to be a contender in 2024. Joe is foundering, and badly, a highly visible phenomenon not lost on the majority of Democrat voters, most of whom are not even remotely Democrat Socialists

So you show that fund raising amounts mean little about election outcome.
As others stated one or a few big donors can make it appear someone’s campaign (which may or may not even have been announced) is doing well.
In reality it could just be desantis payoff for their doing as told, puppet boy.

No, there are plenty of Trump supporters that are not part of the cult. They think for themselves and do not post lies and constant attacks on conservatives and conservative policies in support of their cult master.
