TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. — Georgia lawmakers say they were overwhelmed Saturday by multiple car crashes and a shooting on Highway 80 as thousands made their way to Orange Crush on Tybee Island.
Orange Crush, the unofficial beach bash for HBCU students, returned to Tybee Island this weekend, bringing many visitors.
City officials told WJCL that the event was unpermitted, however, they prepared law enforcement, firefighters, and more to keep everyone safe.
While authorities prepared for the beach’s chaos, the road to the party was a different story.

However, before you make any trip to the beach in either Florida or Georgia, do a search to make sure there is not a gathering of college students planned for that week or weekend, especially one from HBCUs. For a family vacation to the beach can be ruined pretty quickly should you find your trip coincides with that of the feral criminal element.
I went to first and second grade on St Simon’s Island. What a great place to be a kid.
When the Left says you can define your own reality, you can’t very well blame people for sinking to their own personal lowest common denominator (whether that’s sexual depravity, psychological perversion, greed, or tribal violence).
Never did see any credit unions in the search.

I admit that when I first saw reference to HBCUs, I thought of credit unions as well (this was back when Obama was President and everything suddenly had to be viewed through a racial lens). The media acted as if everyone had always known what the reference meant. I had to look it up as well.
I wondered when we would see Yale or Harvard referred to as HWCU’s. That never happened since they simply stopped admitting as many whites. Now those schools can be referred to as HBCUs as well.
Personally, I very much thank my Christian parents for arguing with me at 18 years old about a decision to attend Mardi Gras. They said I should not go that I didn’t understand the environment. I actually told my friends that they told me I could not go as deep down my soul knew it wasn’t a thing I’d even enjoy! I had another opportunity a decade later to go to the dressy ball which I also passed on as it was a drunken dressy ball and I was a bit short on money!!
Personally, these students are only doing what they have seen for years the white students of luxury have enjoyed. Yet, each year many die and this year was no exception. A boy died in Mexico falling off a balcony and probably more harmed for life.
What I await to see is a Christian revival spring break or HBCU gathering!!! After being at Asbury in February the heart and smiles of the students showed what the love of Christ will do in your life. Administration, not so much, but the students put up with the crowds and we actually got to talk to a couple and they were DELIGHTFUL!!!
The media used HBCU to disguise the fact that Orange Crush was a mob of blacks. Also HBCU implies college graduates. The story says the shooter who was arrested was 38. So not a recent greaduate.
I ride down to Tybee often. It’s a two lane road out to the island. Not hard to see how it would back up. No to mention, there isn’t a lot of parking.
I have to give it to “the community” as far as consistency. They consistently engage in violent, impulsive conduct, even on a road trip.

My parents never allowed my going out of state for Spring Break. They knew better.

As you likely well know, there's a fairly sharp curve to the right, shortly after crossing over to the island. I was in my early 30's, arriving for my first trip to Tybee at 3am. Anxious to get to my motel, I was going too fast and crossed over the lane. Thank God no one was there. Can't imagine that there haven't been dozens of head on collisions by drunk kids at that curve.
